Hi

i have an option to get the 2022 iX with Bowers Wilkins now or wait for 2 months for 2023 iX (it’s currently in paint shop)

Am trying to see if it’s worth the additional money and hassle to pick up the car few hundred miles from where I live (can’t buy remote) just for the Bowers Wilkins system (heard it’s good but not experienced it) or just wait for the 2023.

Trying to make a decision..looking for any recommendations.

That’s what I did. A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. My 2023 was in the port in Germany awaiting shipment when a 2022 with better options became available at the dealer 200 miles away. I had a couple of hours to decide. Needless to say I picked it up on the same day. Glad I did. Also some options are no longer available in the 2023 MY.

1) How do you search for inventory beyond 100 miles? That seems to be the limit of the BMW site.

2) Other than possible inclusion of the B&W option, what is different between 22 and 23?

I use Trucar or autotrader. You can search for cars nationwide there.

not aware of any differences between 2022 n 2023. The packages are different but the features seem to be all the same

It was gone in the 2022 iX in the US as well (except for the first run).
My order (scheduled for production in a week) was just updated by BMW to include the kick to open tailgate function. On the flip side, I lost the interior camera. A good trade, in my opinion, but in general, it's not great that features keep disappearing and reappearing from existing orders.

Good for you, I hope my build next month will have the kick to open tailgate back. I don't care about the interior camera anyway.

I would take it now to secure the B&W. On mine it was cancelled in the last order confirmation I received 2 weeks ago. My dealer (BMW HQ in Munich) told it could be that it will return as my car will anyway not be ready before Q1, and even that is an estimation.

Go for B&W. Amazing, one of the features that makes iX stand out.

Making an assumption here... If the car has the B&W it probably has most, if not all of the other packages. I'd get the 2022. 1 - you get it now. 2 - the B&W is awesome. We have it. I am kind of pissed that I couldn't get it in my M50... Oh well.

Of course... if the 2022 is not the color you want... That would be a killer for me.

The ones available have a chestnut interior.. that is the main reason for the holdup. will need to go inperson to see if the color will work for us

I have the Chestnut interior and love it. For some odd reason, the web and other available images do not reflect the actual color which has a more "natural" appearance and less red.
