so I found this message in the My BMW app the other day and scheduled a service appointment for Monday. My hope is that there is a software refresh that may address these issues though the car seems to be functioning ok but because we are Beta testers of these devices we don’t really know which problem is hardware vs software.
My car is presently running 11/2022.64 and all indications from the car and app is that there is no new update at present but I’ve noticed that several contributors to this board have discussed getting dealer-installed updates which may or may not be generally promoted by BMW. I’m just wondering if as of this date (5/13/23) any of you readers have installed a later version. I’m assuming that there may be different software versions based on the model we drive. Mine is the M60. Thanks in advance for any inputs that I can use when going to the SA who really has minimal knowledge about these devices.

I have an M60 as well. I have had a few High Voltage related error messages occur and the local BMW service center did install software updates to two major control systems. I asked why neither the app or vehicle were telling me to get updates and the response is that I would only be told about two types of updates, "comfort and convenience" related updates to the iDrive system and EPA mandated recall updates. IDrive updates occur once or twice a year and are over the air. EPA updates, if any, are addressed on a case by case basis. Updates for the system control modules (like mine and most likely like yours) will only happen by dealerships and the only way to determine if they are needed is to have a dealership do diagnosis. The good news is my M60 continues to do great and I have not had the High Voltage system errors since the updates. Like you say, we are all beta testers and this is the price we pay to be bleading edge!

Thanks. I’ll let you know how Monday’s service goes.
Most current iD8 update is 3/2023.45, and it's a dealer install. Should take about 3-4 hours-ish.

That march 28 error has been going around.
It’s just in the app - the car doesn’t complain. Seems like a temporary bug in the app. Lots of people even with diesel or gas cars are getting the same error.

Got my M60 updated today (3/2023.53). Took about 3.5 hours. Now we’ll wait and see. Also got the air bag recall addressed with the parts getting ordered forinstall i. The next week or two.

I had that error showing on the app for about 24 hours. Disappeared from all views and history.
