It was a hot day when I said let me switch on the AC, before trying to do that I said to myself oh dear I need to dive again into this confusing OS8, pressed on the climate icon, trying to find the AC button, couldn't find any, only icon saying Max AC, I didn't want MAX AC, I wanted gentle breeze of AC.

With the car temperature dial reads LOW I asked the BMW assistant to Switch On Air Conditioning, she said the Air Conditioning already on, which was weird as I did not sense a cold breeze coming out of the vents, I even tried the MAX AC and it was just aggressively blowing air which it does not feel been conditioned.

Is the car AC faulty? I use to drive BMW before even idrive was invented lol, And with my wife 520d G30 when I switch the AC on, I would feel the AC is on.

So I decided to ask here before I book the car with the dealer to check it out.

Hey! If the temperature is at minimum and you turned to Max AC and still don't get appropriate cooling, you may want to talk to the dealer. Even though several DIY videos are there on YouTube to help you fix the issue, if you're not that technical or don't want to put the equipment at risk, consulting a professional would be the safest approach.

BTW did you use this AC before or is this the first time you turned it on just to discover that it isn't working?

In that case, instead of doing things yourself, you may want to have a word with a professional at an authorized service station or the dealer itself. You can talk to them over a phone and see if they can guide you through the process of fixing things up.

I will go to dealer trying to see BMW genius if available or straight to service booking but I just need a hot day otherwise they would say the air already cool lol as with UK weather now its one day winter next day its summer unpredictable as always till we dive more into summer months.

Yes. In a way she agreed that the AC is faulty. That's kind of a good news as now your vehicle will be taken care of by the professionals. Isn't it?

This morning the technician started working on the car from 10:30 to be end up with a curtesy car and the agent said the curtesy car is allocated to me for 1 week just in case lol how optimistic
some sort of wiring problem that the AC compressor not receiving the commands with the wiring near the high voltage wire make it a bit difficult with dealership technician still learning about how to fix the iX. The curtsy car is an awful X3 Hybrid which I thought its 2010 car while its a 2021 registration without any option its so small how I wonder how the X1 is lol. Hope they fix my car soon

I haven't received my iX yet(Dec) but I understand the system doesn't work as we are all use to. I would think if you put the Max A/C switch in the ON position, the temp should go down to LOW and the fan at the highest fan speed. Sounds like there is something they need to figure out. Did you try MAX Heat setting? Did you get any heat at all?

When you get your car back, it would be great if you could post an update on your iX's climate controls status.
