I was wondering where you find dealers willing to pass the tax credits to the buyers on leases.

Here in Austin TX, dealers refuse to pass it on. They even lie about it & say it's not made in the US, so there are no tax credits through the leases. (despite the fact that it's on the bmwusa website for this zip under lease deals...)

I don't mind buying out of market - I'm just looking for a dealer willing to work with me on this.

Case in point, since its inception corporate BMW has removed (and kept them removed) all historical incentives on the iX - even the traditional $1k off from BMW CCA. No incentives from BMW. Zip. None.
Not true. The $7,500 lease incentive + $1,700 BMW dealer contribution is still valid on the BMWUSA website through April 2nd. That’s a $9,200 savings off MSRP (only valid for IX50 leases).

Yes, I stand corrected - speaking of purchase incentives, not lease. The lease incentive is an incentive to lease the car, not buy it. Which is actually an incentive from the Federal Government indirectly, not BMW, to compensate for the Federal tax incentive lost because of the IRA. Dealer incentives are NA, because a dealership can provide whatever incentive they want to sell cars. BMW seems generally disinclined to do the same for their EVs.

The $1700 is a "suggested" dealer contribution....so good luck with that piece. You can really only count on the $7500.

Interesting piece is going to be if you can lock in the $7500 on a 2024.....the most recent dealer interaction noted this.

My dealer also hesistated to match this offer until I showed him the legal language on the BMW website. Luckily, I'm in Los Angeles, so there are a dozen BMW dealerships within a 100 mile radius I can drive to if they don't want to honor the dealer contribution.

From a business perspective, I imagine that when BMW Financial announces national offers like this they must provide some sort of kick back to the local dealers in order to get the deal done. Otherwise why print it at all?!?!?

Tesla's price drops have not affected luxury vehicles like the iX. In fact, BMW is raising prices while Tesla is lowering them. That tells us a lot about demand (or lack thereof) for their respective product lines. Tesla lowered prices by $5k on what Tesla considers its luxury products: Model S & X. Except they are not luxury in any sense of the word except for the price. I rode in my friend's X after having our new iX for a couple of months and I thought there was something wrong with his car. It rode so rough and noisy. I thought I was in a go-cart or something. In a $110k car!

WRT to iX pricing, the UK must be a special case because it's impossible to find any used iX here. Zero. Dealers are still charging MSRP or even a markup. 🤷‍♂️
How different the vehicle markets are right now.
Just a quick look at UK Auto Trader BMW IX Listings....

My information is that Highway Assistant Pro will be available in 2023's via a software update dated 3/2023...It's coming to the '23's......
YEAH !
That’s great - thanks for the info.

No doubt we’ll have to pay for the function per year as I’m not sure even the M60 was spec’d with that functionality as standard ?

Thanks JohnTX. When I go there, it just gives the payment calculations for the lease and doesn't say anything about an incentive. Since you have to put in a zip code, is it possible it's only available from certain dealers?

@dpgorder it does depend on your zip code. Curious, what is your zip code?
Maybe you can visit a nearby city/state if your particular dealer doesn't honor this incentive?
Interesting. I've actually been speaking with a couple of dealers and one of them (in Spokane) said he could offer it to me, but my primary dealer (Seattle) says no. But even when I put in a Spokane zip, it doesn't come up. I take it some zip codes it comes up with a specific line item for the incentive?

It’s in the fine print below - try a different zip like 78704 and see if it shows up for you.

Here’s what I see:
Lease payment is calculated based on Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for vehicle as shown and does not necessarily represent the dealer’s actual sale price. Dealer sets actual price. Please consult your selected dealer. Through April 02, 2023, lease offer available on new 2023 BMW iX xDrive50 models from participating BMW Centers through BMW Financial Services NA, LLC, to customers who meet BMW Financial Services' credit requirements. Offer not valid in Puerto Rico. Monthly lease payments of $999 per month for 36 months is based on an adjusted capitalized cost of $74,540 (MSRP of $87,995, including destination and handling fee of $995, less $4,195 capitalized cost reduction, $0 security deposit, and suggested dealer contribution of $1,760 and $7,500 Lease Credit). Actual MSRP and dealer contribution may vary and could affect your monthly lease payment. Cash due at signing includes $4,195 capitalized cost reduction, $999 first month's payment, $925 acquisition fee and $0 security deposit. Lessee responsible for insurance during the lease term, excess wear and tear as defined in the lease contract, $0.30/mile over 30,000 miles, plus disposition fee of up to $495 (not to exceed an amount permissible by law) at lease end. Not all customers will qualify for security deposit waiver. Tax, title, license, registration and dealer fees are additional fees due at signing. Advertised payment does not include applicable taxes. Purchase option price at lease end is $46,637, plus the purchase option fee disclosed in the lease contract. Additional tax, title, and government fees may also apply. Offer valid through April 02, 2023 and may be combined with other offers unless otherwise stated. Models pictured may be shown with metallic paint and/or additional accessories. They should all honor this incentive.... It's not like the suggested dealer contribution where that is optional. All the brands that were disqualified now offer this incentive only on leases though and not on purchases. It's back door to the $7,500 given some kind of fleet credit. I would be worried if your dealer doesn't know about this.

I just went on the BMW Seattle website and it shows the offer for both the i4 and iX?

I just copied the text from the site and sent it to my dealer. Hope he comes through, otherwise, I guess I'll find another dealer!
In theory it should be "free" to your dealership. The $7,500 is refunded by the the government, and the ~$1,700 is covered by BMW USA parent company. I can't think of a reason why a local dealer would not honor this nice ~$9,200 incentive!!
