hey since my IX order is not in production yet, I still have some time to think about color choices.

Wondering if anyone has ordered ix with Oyster Perforate interior and your opinion?

thanks

My opinion is it will take some level of effort over a dark interior to maintain and keep clean, just based on my experience with white/light interiors artificial and leather. A light interior brightens up the car and looks great, just more maintenance to keep it that way, especially with dye transfer from dark pants.

@machop I have. It makes the interior feel more spacious. Regarding keeping it clean, just get the interior protected with some kind of sealant (I'm getting Gtechniq inside and out here in the UK once my iX arrives) and if you spill your water etc on the seat fabric, the coating will repel the liquid and give you time to wipe it off. I had light colour leather in my previous MB for 4 years. I can't stand dark and gloomy interior colours now.

Since I don't have small children, and I don't wear jeans that much, probably not too difficult to keep it clean. IX is kind of new thing, combines with whiter interior might give it more futuristic feeling. lol

Glad to hear it looks good. thanks for the sealant tip. All my previous BMWs had dark interior, want try something different.
I've got it and really like it. N.B. It is not white, more a mid-cream colour. So far all spills/chocolate etc have easily cleaned off. But it is the summer - ask again when I have had six months of filthy kids in the car post rugby matches.

I have the Oyster interior and think it’s beautiful. It gives the cabin a nice open feel and the contrast between the darker dash and seats is very nice.

I had Oyster on my X3 and loved it, I really would not let the idea that it soils faster put you off it gets dirty just the same as any seat choice its just more noticeable, nothing a decent leather cleaner cant deal with.

The only thing I would consider is if your ok with artificial leather as the real leather is not offered in the Oyster colorway.

I have it. It is not white like Tesla. It’s a little more on the tan side. I absolutely love it. I have 2 kids under 5 and it’s not hard to keep clean. Sealant?? Gtfo. I have nothing on it. I wanted leather but it wasn’t an option. Honestly, it’s not much different. Much better quality than the Tesla pleather

I have had my iX50 since 6/3/2022 and I love my Oyster Sensatec interior with my Aventurin Red metallic exterior. I have owned two BMW X5's with leather interior and the Sensatec is much easier to maintain. Actually, I believe that the Japanese automakers deliver much better quality leathers than BMW. The best leather that I ever had was in my Acura
Legend Coupe.

Speaking of colors fading....I ordered bottom seat covers for the two front seats from Amazon. The pattern goes with the OEM floor mats that I purchased also. No kids and no pets. Here is the link:
Black Panther 1 Pair PU Car Seat Covers, Front Seat Bottom Protectors Compatible with 95% Vehicles,Diamond Pattern Embroidery, Anti-Slip (W 21.26''×D 20.86”) - Black Amazon.com
I’ve gone with that interior. I’ve also had the dark red interior in previous cars and it made no difference to keeping it clean to the black interior in the either motor.
