HI,
Im just learning about this Bimmercode thing and was wondering if it is available for IX 50 / Idrive 8? Has anyone tried to program changes yet? Will it void the warranty?

I am interested in this too, let me know if you invest and try it!
Haven't seen it available for the iX yet (as per their site) but I have one on our Mini Cooper, its pretty cool. Offers more insights and some nice additional info screens.
Indeed, I tried on my iX with a OBDLink CX and Bimmercode & Bimmerlink apps, but the car is not recognized. I also tried with ABRP with the same OBDLink CX and ABRP simply doesn't have the OBD button enabled when you got to the car settings for the iX.
I reached out to ABRP and they have confirmed that the iX is currently not supported but they say they regularly add cars in the supported list (so hopefully soon?).

I'm mainly interested in ABRP support for OBD interface on the iX to get live data in ABRP.

If you happen to find out that the iX is supported by ABRP, could you post a reply here. I would appreciated it.
I have Bimmercode and I used it to code my wife'x G02 X4, but unfortunately the app doesn't support iX at the moment.

So, if the CX is not compatible with the iX, does anyone have an OBD adapter that actually works with the iX (using any of the available smartphone (android) apps)?

I unfortunately bought the CX before reading these posts...and, yes, the CX doesn't recognize the iX. I'll return it for a refund, but would like to know if there is an adapter that works,

interestingly the iX has started popping up on the coding websites as a supported option for the HUD basic mods (VIM, delete safety message, etc.) not sure if it is legitimate or not. I know HugoNZ has been able to achieve these mods however...

I've read on another forum that iX coding is 90% done via the BMW cloud now. This means there will be no unofficial retrofit options on iX: BMW IX Coding Thread

The only unit you can code yourself is the head unit with some basic stuff like allow to play videos from USB.

I’ve only had my car a couple of weeks and had a few minutes to play with coding.

I’m using bimmerutility with esys. For the adapter I am using a wireless one from mgflasher which works perfectly.

I haven’t had a deep dive but so far most of the ECU are not available.

The 2 I’ve looked at that work are for the Idrive head unit and I’m guessing the ambient lighting.

There are a ton of codes in the Idrive unit which look configurable but I really haven’t had time to explore.

So far I’ve coded the disclaimer to be off, VIM, one touch indicator to 5 blinks (yes, that now works!)

You should check out @Hugo_nz's work at BMW IX Coding Thread

Thanks

I’ve seen that too. I’ve been coding since e46 years, just meant I’ve only had 10 minutes with the car for coding not coding itself.
For those of you still interested, meanwhile the OBDLink CX in the iX is supporting ABRP now. (or is it the other way around :))
