Bluetooth disaster

I'm in a loop of death with bluetooth
The car is always connecting to the phone, if it's in or out of the car, the car is off or on/in motion.

I therefore can't delete the phone or add another on. I can't use carpal or android auto etc...

Surprisingly I could set up the Digital Key, but not then use that phone as a phone...

Any thoughts / similar stories?

Its an android that's stuck (Samsung flip z3)
Car refuses to forget, just ignores delete device.
Even if the phone isn't in the car it continuously tries to connect. I did a 6 hour journey on Saturday...

Can't add android or iPhone.

Is there a hard reboot trick like in a tesla?!?

Can you add a second phone and then try to delete the first?

Try the following sequence:
  1. Turn off your phone (not just lock it)
  2. Reboot iDrive (hold volume down for 30s)
  3. Attempt to delete the phone from iDrive
  4. If the above was successful, continue:
  5. Go 100 feet away from the car
  6. Turn on the phone
  7. Delete the car from the phone's bluetooth settings

Hi @Laix
Please confirm if the solution suggested by @Electric Sloth worked for you.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately it just refused to delete in any of the scenarios.
I ended up hitting the factory reset button for the whole system.
given the cloud settings this was less painful than expected
This happened to me and the above suggestion worked for me. I only needed to do 1 to 3.
Resetting IDrive suggested above worked . Thanks . The dealer wanted me to make a service appointment. Saved me a day of hassle
Thank you. I had the same problem. Resetting the iDrive worked for me as well. Here is a YouTube video for resetting. It took a bit to figure out how to hold down the volume button. In my opinion you push down the volume button.
