No idea, but I have to think BMW will include controls accessible from the center arm rest area.
A dedicated remote and/or phone app would be great well.

Looks stunning! Yes, if they could give some independent controls to the rear passengers, that would be great. As for mobile apps, wouldn't it be cumbersome to connect (or pair) each phone merely to control the screen, especially when a family is big?

A must would be a dedicated remote and then an app as a backup. But the app doesn't have to be all that cumbersome. BMW could program it to send a connect prompt to phones already set to receive Bluetooth or Wifi connections to the vehicle, sort of like what many other devices do already. It's what my new-ish bluetooth headphones do.

Yes and yes, those sound good. Having a dedicated remote and only the devices already paired with the front display can get a push notification on whether the phone should connect to the display.

The i7 is a compromised platform w/ a transmission tunnel in the back row. All the innovations in this car are ruined by seeing this horrible vestige of ICE. BMW seem unwilling to make the proper investments in a proper, purpose-built EV platform. I think this will hurt BMW in the long run.
