My husband and I pre-ordered two iX's on 8/18/2021. I received my Production Number on March 1, 2022 and my VIN no. on March 17, 2022. My car goes into production Week 14 or April 3-9, 2022. I have been checking with local BMW dealers to try to understand why my husband just received a Production Number on 3/29/2022. His car goes into production Week 20 or May 15-21, 2022. I was told that due to certain options like Amido leather, Active Driving Assist Pro, and Bowers sound system, will delay production, because of the need to source the required parts. When we ordered last year we were told to expect delivery Spring/Summer 2022. So, it appears that we are on schedule, even with the delays in supplied parts.Plus, the delay may also be due to the pandemic. Isn't it?
That gives me hope, that my car also get into the same production week as yours, since I got my VIN on March 15. If you want to find out your production week just call BMW Genius (844) 443-6487. I know, thank you very much for your response. In my case it is not so helpful. They tell me only, that the production will end on May 12, which means 2 months after it started on March 15. I understand, it does not even make sense to them, because they can not explain it.If you want to find out your production week just call BMW Genius (844) 443-6487. Your order probably is sitting in the order bank waiting for your dealer to get an allotment. Once that happens and depending on what their allotment is and where you are on their list, produ numbers will then be given. Just have no idea how long it takes for the dealer to get their allotment. I’ve been in the order bank for a month, am number 2 but still no producti number.Does anyone know what’s really happening RE; IX production? I ordered my IX on 3-7-22. I’ve yet to receive any notification from BMW, no acknowledgment no nothing. I call BMW genius and they told me that I should’ve received it within two days?? I was also told by BMW genius that there weren’t any current delays, they changed production locations and it’s running full speed ahead. I asked them if they could look into my situation, they told me I would have to go to the dealership. They said that if the car was truly ordered by the dealership, I would’ve received notification and a production number. Has anybody else experienced similar situation? Just so there’s no confusion, my paperwork sales 2022 model.
