Mine is affected, but if it says remedy unavailable, then there's no point in making the appointment right? Otherwise they'l just hold onto the car for a long time.

It says "unavailable" because AFAIK parts are not yet generally available, so there's no point in scheduling an appointment for anything. Owners are presumably to be notified in writing by 7 April, and dealers will presumably make appointments when they receive parts.

My SA just reached out today. Confirmed car is stuck at the Processing Center awaiting the fix. Hasn’t provided an estimate yet, but assures me the factory making the parts is running 24/7. And if I’d received the car before the recall it’d be fine. Would be enjoying it no problem. Coming up on 1 year since my original order date. Frustrating. Sure hope I like this car and don’t get a lemon!

Ours is also in the Long Beach Processing Center. Very frustrating but I realize they can’t release a car when air bag is not working properly. I followed it on the Dorado Leader and was so happy when it arrived in port, only to hear about the recall on air bag and sound system. Waiting to hear an update.

Hadn’t heard about the sound system recall. The B&W or HK? The most frustrating part for me is that this airbag issue affects 1/100 of the affected vehicles’ driver’s side airbag MIGHT not fully deploy. So we’re talking a slim probability of a slim probability. So much so that had our vehicles been delivered, we’d be allowed to keep driving them around until the fix came in. This is far more an “abundance of caution” thing more than anything which I get, but give me my damn car. Furthermore, this has to largely be a cost saving measure for them. Sending 15k new airbags to 1 centralized location for installation en masse versus however many airbags to however many dealerships for installation. I get it, but you guys fucked up. Give me my car. I’m waiting God knows how much longer for a vehicle that is finally here after waiting a year. It’s beyond frustrating. Pretty over it at this point, to be honest. Like at this point I’m terrified of waiting this long for a car that might be one of the lemons. If I get any weird frictiony bullshit from the dealership I may just walk away from the deposit. And yes I’m depressed.

My husband heard about the sound system recall. I’ll get back to you with that info. Yes, I hear your frustration! This is actually our 2nd experience. We had the 2022 that had the airbag recall. After waiting 11 months for the car, we drove it 3 weeks before they picked it up. After 4 months of getting no where, we sold them the car back last November and ordered a new one. Someone was looking out for us as we got a production number about 2 weeks later. They did reimburse the entire amount including taxes, insurance, etc plus a consideration check. I know I’m probably crazy to try again but the car was gorgeous and I loved it. I just hope this 2023 won’t have any more recalls and will be as wonderful as I hope. If you hear anything more, please post and I will do the same.

That’s probably the main thing keeping me in the game, is the absolute gushing of everyone who’s driven this car for any amount of time and loves the hell out of it. I mean if this isn’t the best testimonial of any product ever then I don’t know what is.

Maybe referencing the external pedestrian warning sound recall, which is a known issue.

I have an iX at the long Beach processing center right now. It was supposed to get to the dealership next week. Is there a way to check if our VIN is impacted by the recalls? We haven't heard anything and My Garage doesn't include anything useful (still says it's at the port).

Thanks my iX is impacted by the recall as well. I'm waiting to hear the expected delay (its already at the long beach processing center). Has anyone recently received their iX from that port after the recall repair?

Just read a story by Edmunds that said the cars built after Feb 1 are not part of the recall (mine was completed on Feb 13, fingers crossed). The article also said existing owners may not get theirs fixed before April/May.

I wouldn't even get mine fixed if I had the vehicle, they still meet government regulations. Wish they would allow me to sign a waiver to get my car from port now.

My SA just told me that the car would be updated by the end of the week with a new airbag. Hope this is true so we can pick up the car the following week.
