When I select camera lens cleaning I get some message about this not being currently available. Is there some trick to making it work? (Not that I've needed it yet, but would like to know in advance!)

Today the option was available (I didn't select it) - perhaps because it had been done recently (from new), or...? Anyway, seems nothing to worry about

Apologies for an ignorant question but do you mean that the option becomes available only when cleaning is required?

Not quite sure what the trigger is, but when the car was brand new it wasn't available. And then it was. It may have been as simple as the car not realising it had any washer fluid because I hadn't even used the windscreen wipers at that stage!

Oh! Maybe we have to wait for a while to see what enables or disables the option. Nevertheless, I believe the automatic mechanism can (and must) be somehow overridden for manual intervention.

I know BMW got criticized a bunch in previous years for wanting to charge a subscription for the CarPlay option after people had already bought it. I wouldn't put it past BMW to make you want to charge to use a feature.....oh, you want to wash your camera, that will be $2 please. After successful payment, the button is now available.

Hahaha! Not that way. It's like something getting automatically enabled when the lens senses poor or obstructed visibility, considers that it needs cleaning, and then enables the feature.

Ignition should be on. That is what works for me every time

I just had something strange happen. When I try to clean the rear camera, the washer arm comes out and makes a sound, but no cleaning fluid comes out. The front and wipers work fine (so i don't think im out of cleaning fluid as I believe that it all come from the same tank.

let's hope it has not been deleted I will check on my 50 and let you know!

Put car in reverse and on the screen shows rear view. On the left side of screen is a menu. Click on wash cameras front and rear.
