Has anyone ran their IX through a automated car wash? I know, I know, the horror đŸ˜± but let’s just assume you are on a long road trip and hit the mother of all bug storms and you would like to get them off before they bake on and become part of your paint through eternity. Is there a one button “car wash” mode somewhere that turns off all the sensors so things like your automatic windshield wipers don’t come one, etc. BTW, touchless wash only. No need to lecture me there.

I am planning a cross country trip after picking up my IX and this is something that has come to mind.

Thanks

There is a car wash Camera mode I think it just helps you get centred, wipers you can just switch them off, mirrors power them in

Currently driving a Tesla and about to order a P2. The Tesla couldn’t go through an automatic car wash for the first 2 years that I owned it, but there’s currently an OTA update that adds “car wash mode” and puts the car in neutral, rolls up windows and turns off the wipers. Just wondered what the real world experience with the Polestar is? Can it go through automatic car washes without issues, or do you have to hand wash.

Thanks in advance!

I think it is best to enter the car wash in d mode not in b. The reason seems to be, that the region is just to hard and does not allow the car to seamlessly roll through.
If the car wash pulls the car (letting its wheels rotate) then you should select neutral if its drive through either mode D or B, D easier to creep than B. No different to an ICE Auto car.

Yes, makes sense. But multiple times when I drove up in B and switched to neutral. The wheels didn’t want to rotate. From D to N it never happened.
Thats odd mine does I have a steep drive and if you select N it will roll down the slope, you haven't got AH Auto Hold selected ?
N can only be selected after you Start so it you switch off you get the transmission lock P and parking brake (optional by setting)

Took mine for its first car wash today. Under lock/unlock, set it to not turn off when the door opens and then put the seatbelt in for it to remain in drive mode. Car wash puts car in neutral so the belt moves it along. While I do hand washes for the most part, need to get salt off the car after snow. Hope this helps!
