Charging - predetermined timings

Hi after I set the car to charge at a predetermined time last night the car kept trying to charge immediately. After multi attempts I think I managed to get the car to charge at the predetermined time even though when you look at the charging log it states that the car was charging once I plugged it in to my Zappie charger - see screenshot of the charging log.

You will see from the phone notifications the multiple attempts I’m referring to.

Is there something that I’m doing wrong?

My previous car was a Tesla and I had no issues with selecting a charging time with my home charger.

Hi Ger
Have you disabled the charge immediately option in the idrive charging menu?
That might be overriding your schedule.

I got the same when I set it up on the via the APP see notes (in red) - Perhaps when you stop driving you should check the screen message does not say charge immediately, I'll try that next

When I checked the car just now the “charge immediately” was selected. I’ve now reset to time slot so let see how I get on the next time - here is how I have set it up - see images.

Another question re AC limit - is it better to have the limit set to 32amps or leave unselected? - I’m on phase one power.

Thanks again

So the issue with the predetermined charging was software related. During a diagnostic check there was a number of issues identified which were all corrected following a software update.
I am still having issue with this, and it always charge immediately despite the set up on time slot. I have not software update showing . anyone else still having the issues and know of the solutions please. Thank you

I did not have a software updated showing. The issue was identified only after a diagnostic was carried out on the car by BMW. You will need to book the car in for a diagnostic at BMW.
i have had this issue many times and have emailed bmw about this but they said it can take one month for a reply to investigate. this has only really happened for me with one charging point which to me seems like a bug in the bmw software and also probably an issue with the specific charging point of source london who i have also informed as i keep getting charged idle fees!!! source london have been a nightmare and never respond about fees, very frustrating..
Even if you choose to charge within a time slot, the car immediately start to charge for a minute to determine the available charging power. Then it will stop the charging and resume within your selected time slot.
Reason for checking available power is to make sure you can reach charging target within the time slot. If not, then the car will start charging before your selected time slot.
