My dealer advised that the Comfort Plus Package cost has decreased with a note the Lumbar/Width adjustment on the Passenger Side is now deleted

I know this has been commented on elsewhere

Good news is that build slots are being allocated at the end of August

Also I have a link to view my car My ordered iX

Very nice. I wish BMW did something like this in the USA. Did you get a production order number yet?

Have you gotten your build slot already?

I have also ordered a IX 50 that i really want to appair this year due to new taxes here in Norway that is going to make the car around 10.000 euros more expensive. I have red in other channels that they won't produce and ship the IX 50's to customers before next year.

I also have an i4 M50 order in place, and the estimated delivery there is in the beginning of December. I think that is really weird if the i4 is delivered before the IX, when i sat the order for the IX back in the start of march, and the i4 first of July.

I would really appreciate if you make a sound when your car has entered production (and the date of order).

@Fin_IX You have mentioned about the planned delivery date as week 45, it should have been delivered then. Any news?

A slight delay (few weeks here and there can be considered minor in these days...). The car is ready and waiting for the shipment so should be here soon.

We had a bit different packages in Nordic Market but I checked practically all possible options and the only one missing is 48Z Deletion of front passanger lumbar support/front passanger backrest width adjustment so once again considering the times, it's not a bad hit. (trying to be positive, of course it should not be like this for customers spending immense amount of money).

I had a short test drive this monday and out of all I test drove (etron, Q8, i-pace, TM3 (had TMS in order but there was no change to test drive)) this was clearly the best so worth the wait.

@Fin_IX

Thank you for the explanation.

Deletion of that package is exactly same in TR.

How you monitor the progress? Here we have myBMW website with some status messages like in production, in shipping, in delivery center and contact dealer. Mine is in production status since 25th Oct.

I'm wondering if the delay on yours is Comfort+, our specs are very close, the only real difference being TowBar and Comfort (not plus) on mine. My build was behind yours, but looks like it's just overtaken it. Now at the "produced" stage (160-182). I've asked my dealer if there are any specific spec delays he's aware of and if he reports back, i'll let you know.

Very frustrating, it would be nice to know more but either way isn't going to make it happen sooner

As you say Comfort + there are a few additions from comfort
Namely
322 Comfort Access
Access to the vehicle without removing key from pockets or bag. Sensors detect proximity of keys to the vehicle and allow dors to be unlocked by holding the door handle closest to the key. Locking by touching ribbed section of the doorhandle when key is not inside the vehicle. Comprising of the following features:- Keyless access to the vehicle through all doors and tailgate- Welcome light activation upon approach to vehicle (approx 3 metres) - Intelligent automatic unlocking (approx 1 metre) and locking (approx 2 metres) upon reaching set distances from vehicle, using both key fob and/or compatible Apple devices- Smart Opener for tailgate, allows sweeping movement of foot under bumper for automatic opening and closing of tailgate- BMW Digital Key for locking/unlocking and starting of vehicle using compatible Apple devices as vehicle key. Includes the ability to share upto 5 digital keys with trusted users and 1 Digital Key Card.
323 Soft-close Doors
Enables the doors to be closed conveniently and safely without much effort or noise nuisance in quiet surroundings. If a door is inadvertently left partly open it is automatically pulled to the fully closed
4HC Front and Rear Heat Comfort System
Turns the car into a heat cocoon comprising of:- Front and rear heated seats with three level temperature control- Heated side arm rests- Heated steering wheel- Infrared panel heating of the front/rear door trim panels and lower instrument pane
453 Ventilated Front Seats
Ventilation of front seat base and seat backrest

ok, we may be able to rule a couple of bits out here (for what's worth). As i mentioned i have Comfort, this includes Comfort Access also, so i doubt it's that. My Full spec is:

Sophisto Grey
22" 1020 Style Bi-colour Aero Alloy Wheels
Heated Steering Wheel
Comfort Access
Sky Lounge Panoramic Glass Sunroof
Sun Protection Glass
Clear&Bold Interior Application
Deletion lumbar support/width adjustment passenger
Front Electric Sport Seats
Interior Camera
Laserlights
Parking Assistant Plus
Visibility Pack 1666
Comfort Pack
Sky Lounge Pack
Flexible Charger

There are a couple of Out of Pack Options (such as the interior Camera). i should mention this isnt a spec which i have built, as my original spec ended up with a build date of 10/22!! This is a cancelled order which another dealer had, which was very close to what i specified.

My guess your delay will be down to Massage Seats or the Hear Comfort System (which is a very new innovation).

I hope yours gets moving soon (knowing my luck mine will stall!)

completely missed that! That could well be the other part (especially since it's a third party audio solution affected by the same shortages). My original spec has the Tech Pack "proper", i didnt realise the configurator allowed Interior Camera and PAP separately, but it seems they do now.

I've done a quick google search and it looks like BMW have pulled B&W across some models in the range (seemingly in the US) Bowers & Wilkins is completely GONE! WTF?! also an interesting article here https://www.thedrive.com/tech/43048...ing-from-new-bmws-thanks-to-the-chip-shortage (which you have no doubt read).

For what it's worth, i had B&W in my XC90 T8 and although it was great, i must say the HK i heard in the iX Demo i drove was very impressive. I did want B&W but had to make the sacrifice on the model i had on order.

Today I have received some negative updates regarding my order.

It was supposed to be built by week 49 which is this week. But due to workload, factory informed that build slots will be delayed to last week of December. Because of this change, distributor may ask to arrange it for build slot as first week of Jan, this will also make the cars 2022 built in that way.

Another feedback is that any timeline can change anytime suddenly.

Above situation is not for a specific specification but for all Turkey orders (all Turkey orders are xdrive 40). I assume that we are talking about a general supply chain issue in the factory and it looks normal these days.
