Hi, the description on the the US build configurator is a bit vague on what exactly is included in the Active Driving Assistant Pro package for $1700. The description states as follows:

Innovative camera/radar-based driver assistance systems provide partly-automated support to deliver peace of mind. Features like Steering and Lane Keeping Assistant, Lane Change Assistant and Evasion Aid assist the driver during critical driving situations, such as a health emergency or the sudden presence of vehicles or pedestrians in front of the car.

Even my dealer is not 100% certain what is standard and what is part of this package. For example, enhanced cruise control where the car maintains the distance with the car in front of it. Blind spot monitoring, etc.

Does anyone have more definitive information what is included in the base model and what is actually in this package?

I have the plus package before pro was offered - you needed to add this to get side and front cameras

It will cruise with distance control only (one setting) will slow down for bends etc. maintain distance which you can adjust come to a stop and move off, it willl adjust to speed limits (you can set an offset say + 5mph)
Another setting active cruise same as above but will keep in lane and if you want to change lane momentarily click the indicator and it will change lane indicators remaining on until it acheives the manouver. You can increase or reduce the cruise speed as you wish but it will adopt the limit when next picked up (you can disable this)
Another setting speed limit just stops you going faster than what is set a bit pointless

I havent experienced any of the evasive manouvers it is meant to have - a deer ran out on me and it didnt pick it up

I think the health thing is the monitoring of your eyes perhaps it alarms or slows the vehicle if you fall asleep not sure if that is when in auto modes or all the time.

Cuz the car was trying to find dinner for you. :)

Thanks for the clarification, but that brings up one more question. I thought the side cameras were used for the 360 view for parking, etc. Does that require the drivers assist package or is that included somewhere else? The reason I ask is that the convenience or premium package both add Surround View w/ 3D View

Your specs may be different but in standard form it just has sensors for parking assist like most cars without cameras - test drove one and a car this big you need 360 view cameras
Hard stop useful if you are getting close to something hits the brakes - stopped me 2" from a wall - you definitely want 360 view

One thig that appears to be missing on US cars is the "Lim" function in the different modes. It was a separate button on my X5, and appears to be a toggle selection for the Mode button on European iXs, but not there at least on mine. This allowed you to select your current speed (or set one) that reduced throttle input as you approached the speed - overcomable by just pressing the accelerator harder, but useful for example when driving in a neighborhood with a reduced speed limit just as a "reminder."

I’ve used the driving assistant on a couple of occasions because music was paused whilst a voice suggested I try it. No idea how to disable the voice interrupting, I can go home for that so I don’t need an expensive car doing it.

The experience was amazing and included a sweeping bend through a tunnel with the steering keeping me perfectly aligned between the lines, slowing down as the speed limit changed. The car complains of you don’t have your hands on the steering wheel.
