I ordered my iX 50 on 19th March 2022 in Australia. Last week I was advised the delivery date was pushed back 2 months to Feb 2023. The wiring harnesses for the iX 50 come from Ukraine. They are not making iX 50's in the next production run due to a shortage of parts. My order is now pushed back one quarter, with the next batch of iX 50s to be built commencing November 2022. So I should see my iX 50 around January to February 2023

As far as I was able to follow, the lack of wiring harnesses when the Ukraine war started led to a two week plant closure, but that has long passed and sourcing of that particular part moved to other sites of the supplier.

That being said, shortages of all kinds of components continue to persist, so no surprise about delays.

Hi, I just joined and am in the US. I spoke with a dealer near me who said that orders are taking 1 year at this point. Does anyone in the US know about the ordering timing? Is this happening in other countries?

You should be very lucky to have it by then.
I ordered IX50 on 7th of January in Australia, and been told November built but not hold them on it. Originally they said July production!
Obviously no war at the time.
Good luck to us

Yes I also heard about the 2-week closure at the start of the war. When contacted by my dealer last month they advised that there were further delays and that they were only making base model iX40s between July and October due to a shortage of wiring harnesses. iX 50 was not due to start production again until November 2022. I think the best I could hope for would be a December build, possibly January, then delivery to Australia

That's wild! One would think that BMW would have all the resources necessary to work around a wire harness production problem. But of course the war in Ukraine is horrific.

Thanks for the update. I was told at the end June that they would be making iX40 base models in July, August September. Great to hear you are getting your iX40 M Sport on 30/10/22.

Production runs for the next batch of Australian iX50s were scheduled for November to December production this year. Your date seems to have slipped 2 months. Has anyone in Aus received any updates on our production slot?

I saw the price went up about AUD5k a few months ago. The Aus website has removed the price all together for new cars, plus made ventilated seats a compulsory option. Has anyone in Aus had any pricing Dates?

The Dealer is keeping very quiet!
