I have an iX50 M Sport on order and the originally scheduled delivery date was last week. The car was built around July 23-24 and the status on July 27th was 155 - I believe production complete and doing final QA.
Since then the order status has not been updated at all, it's still sitting with the July 27th update. I'm in the UK, so the car doesn't have a long way to go. But the main concern is that the order status hasn't been updated at all for so long.

Has anyone seen this before? Or know why it might occur?

Hi,

My iX M60 stayed like that for 5-6 weeks. Most likely there was a single part that could not be fitted during assembly and they were waiting for that. It has now moved to the port, shipped by Sea and has just arrived in Southampton port with status 9630

I hope that helps

Thanks, that's good, if frustrating to hear. Hope yours is delivered soon.
BMW Genius and the dealer have been unable to give me any more info. At very least the knowledge it's not just order my order affected is helpful.

How does someone get the delivery status? When I put down my deposit at the dealer, they didn't provide any kind of order # or code I could use and said they had no idea on the delivery or build timeline and that I could check in periodically or they would let me know when it arrives. I asked if there was any way to track and they said no. All they gave me was a very simple single page invoice for the deposit. It doesn't even list the spec of the car -- I only have that because I did the build your car feature online before going in and printed it for them and kept a copy.

I believe the in the US your order status can be checked online, but I don't know how to do that.
I've just used the Live Chat feature on BMW's website to ask someone on the team to get me the latest info. You give them your order # and name and they'll tell you what the status is.

Thanks. The issue is my dealer provided no order number, even when asked. Odd.

Called the dealer back just now. Order was placed / deposit paid 14 days ago. At the time they estimated October delivery. But as of today they can't give me a "production number" (which they said is what I must have meant by "order number") because the order is "still in our 'order bank' and BMW hasn't processed it to release a production number yet," whatever that means.

Yes I've seen screenshots from the ordering system my dealer uses - it says "Production No." next to what I refer to as order #. Sounds like they haven't actually booked it with BMW - they don't have a production slot for you yet, so I would keep looking around for a dealer who has got one, if you can.

Thanks. Do dealers get quotas of production slots or something? Why wouldn't a confirmed order with a deposit go into the system immediately as a pending order? They already have a $2.5K deposit so if I shop around I would then need to go in and reverse that deposit. I went where BMW sent me. And how would I know if the next dealer would have the same problem? Seems odd for them to estimate delivery in 2 months if they don't even have the ability to get the order in the system with BMW. Also, it sounds like order # is still something distinct from production # if they are two fields. Weird that they don't have a order number for a fully spec'ed, ordered and down payment received vehicle.

My advisor and BMW genius also have no idea why but in their system, it is actually showing "Status 155 - Assembly finished/quality check" I too wondering what causes the "Stuck".

A friend of mine, his iX M60 is already in transit to the US, his order was placed at about the same time as mine. But his build is very standard and didn't add any options/packages, only has an upgraded interior to Castanea Chestnut Leather.

I wonder if the shortage of parts in certain options/packages causes the delay or if the recent battery recalls (NHTSA Campaign: 22v541000) affecting our order or both.

Wish I could help provide some help but I ordered a '22 M4 back in October and it finally was built in Dec. and sat in QC for 94 with NO explanation as to why... Sorry to report you'll just have to wait it out - BMW did finally provide a vehicle for me to drive for about 6 weeks until I could pick up my car in April - 7 Month ordeal.

yep plenty of options checked for my iX50... looks like it's related to certain option(s). plenty of other builds moved smoothly thru the process.

Seems to be random at best, my iX is fully loaded, every option ticked and went through QC in a day or two. Biggest delay for me was the 2 recalls which led to the car being at the VPC for 10 days

I'm in the same position. My car was due to be delivered this week but was stuck at order stage 182 for 19 days. Moved today to stage 190 - on the train to the port and my new expected delivery date is w/c 12 Sep

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad I'm not alone but obviously wish it wasn't the case for any of us!

I'll keep chasing both my dealer and BMW Genius team and will report any updates here. So frustrating. Hopefully they'll loan me an X5 or something in the interim if it's delayed much further.
