Such a thing would have to be disclosed prior to delivery. BMW can't just remove something and not tell a customer. That's illegal bait-and-switch.Hi. check your VIN on mdecoder.com and look for DELETION DIGITAL KEY. If that was added to your build then you probably are the unlucky one to not receive digital key due to chip shortages.
This is not cool, BMW. This is how you piss off customers and ruin your brand. There’s a disclaimer on the South African bmw website about missing features due to chip shortages. All the current x3 cars have the deletion of bmw digital key and deletion of lumbar support. I’m assuming the same thing happened in this instance due to shortages.
Did you figure it out? I am also missing the option in the app, although shown in the manual and have the Digital Key option in iDrive.Hi everyone
I'm new to the forum and only just got my iX a few weeks ago. When I picked it up, the dealership said they couldn't set up my iPhone 13 Pro with a Digital Key as the option wasn't showing within the MyBMW App. I'm signed in and registered with the app and all other functions for the iX within the app are working fine, it's just the Digital Key thing that I can't seem to get set up. The line that I'm getting from the dealership is that there's a problem with the app that BMW is aware of and it will be updated 'any day now' and the Digital Key option will be showing, but that doesn't ring true when others seem to be using Digital Key just fine with the iX.
Can anyone offer any insights or advice please? Thank you!
