The Grill does not add to the Design of the Car. I’m interested but not sure I will buy it as the Front is really horrible. I always liked BMW’s as they were classy looking Vehicles. But now the front end calls too much attention to what should be under stated and really hurts the design of the rest of the Vehicle. The grill seems to be a big discussion around the BMW iX. I am definitely not a fan, but I don't think the grill dissuades me from making it my newest vehicle. What do you think?
I've really heard this chatter around the i4 too.
I honestly think it looks great. I just made the payment for one in Storm Bay Grey in M-trim with Castanea interior.

Ok, I will hold off any additional comments since I have not seen the Car in person. I do like the interior color you chose. I will admit the Grill is less obvious on the Darker Exteriors.I honestly think it looks great. I just made the payment for one in Storm Bay Grey in M-trim with Castanea interior.

Yeah, so unfortunately I was nog allowed to make photos, since it was a pre-production model, but the pictures REALLY don't do it justice. When we came out of the room and looked at the big banner they had outside we said to each other: "it looks nothing like the actual car".Ok, I will hold off any additional comments since I have not seen the Car in person. I really cannot understand the neagtivity on the grill, look at the likes of Audi and Mercedes with their massive grills, I'm glad you mentioned about the Sport and Msport differences the font trims don't look neat at all on the Sport. Did the model viewed have the sunroof ? I think it would be pretty dark inside without it.And the M-trim makes a big difference! The regular trim has these "weird edges" on the front. The huge intakes on the M give it a completely different look. The one they had on display was a red one in M trim with the Castanea interior. It was just a little too much. Same goes for the "Swarovski" upgrade (you get cristals in the center console and doors).
Congrats on placing your order @CarlG! When you saw it in person what stood out to you compared to what the photos show?I honestly think it looks great. I just made the payment for one in Storm Bay Grey in M-trim with Castanea interior.

As much as I previously complained about the Grill I like the rest of the Car and put a Deposit on one for delivery in 2022. Since in the U.S. Deposits are not yet orders all it does is give you delivery position with your Dealer.I really cannot understand the neagtivity on the grill, look at the likes of Audi and Mercedes with their massive grills, I'm glad you mentioned about the Sport and Msport differences the font trims don't look neat at all on the Sport. BTW I've updated my order now Red with Bronze trim and B&W audio not sure on 22" wheels I like the 21's more, no idea on customer deliveries was that hinted at you viewing ?
Cost is now £1k less than my i8 bought in 2016 which had barely any tech !

Did you have to pay anything to your dealer for the deposit. As much as I previously complained about the Grill I like the rest of the Car and put a Deposit on one for delivery in 2022. Since in the U.S. Deposits are not yet orders all it does is give you delivery position with your Dealer.
Just a small refundable Deposit. I agree that in dark colors the Grill is less noticeable. I wonder if the U.S. colors will be the same as the Uk Website.Did you have to pay anything to your dealer for the deposit.
Also, does the iX in black change anyone's mind on the grille? It's definitely less noticeable.

BMW iX Spotted in Black for the First Time!
We have our first look at the iX in black out in the open! It looks pretty mean looking in black like this.www.ixforums.com
There might be a couple of differences but overall I'm going to guess it'll be similar.Just a small refundable Deposit. I agree that in dark colors the Grill is less noticeable. I wonder if the U.S. colors will be the same as the Uk Website.
My wife just ordered the same spec, like you she is going with the 21’s . I’m curious about the gold versus black trim. Most of the red ones I’ve seen pics of have the gold trim and I kinda like it. Have you seen the red vs black trim in person. Like your thoughts as currently her order is for the black trim thanks and enjoy your ride.I really cannot understand the neagtivity on the grill, look at the likes of Audi and Mercedes with their massive grills, I'm glad you mentioned about the Sport and Msport differences the font trims don't look neat at all on the Sport. I've driven the iX twice and I love everything about it--except the grill. It just seems so garish and out of proportion to--and out of synch with--the rest of the design elements. The first-time I saw the IX (online) I thought the car was quite ugly. When I next saw one at the dealers, I thought it didn't look too bad. But a few weeks later, when I saw a black IX in my rear view mirror, I thought it looked soo agressive, I instantly arranged for a test drive.
I am now a proud owner of a Phytonic Blue IX50. In fact I actually cancelled my G80 m3 order to get this car.
Your dealer is the only one in the states with a car sitting for months. Congrats on that I guess?I've driven the iX twice and I love everything about it--except the grill. It just seems so garish and out of proportion to--and out of synch with--the rest of the design elements.
It seems to scream "LOOK AT ME"--which is something I personally don't want to say. I've owned at least 8 BMWs (including a 12 cyl Seven series which might have been the best car I'd ever owned, and my wife's current X5) And there is an iX that's been sitting at my long-time dealer for 2 months---I'd have bought day one if the grill were just OK, rather than awful.
I know---beauty in the eye, etc...
BTW, Autotrader list 237 iXs in stock nationally....and 21 in my metro area. They now list two in stock (altho they sometimes mistakenly post cars that were customer-ordered). The one I drove is black with the orange/rust interior. According to my 20 year salesman, a lot have looked at it but none pulled the trigger....I first drove it at least 2 months ago
In my experience, most of those are demo cars and not for sale.BTW, Autotrader list 237 iXs in stock nationally....and 21 in my metro area.
