Two Qs:My iX just left Newark, NJ and is finally en route to my dealer (hallelujah!). I was asking the dealership manager what the lead time was on a new iX, and he said he had no idea when he was getting any more allocation and that mine is in fact the first they're taking delivery of. They're a pretty big dealer, I believe, so my impression is that the iX is going to be very, very scarce for a long time. I live in nyc, and i have not seen a single iX in nyc or long island other than my dealer's demo. We got our Tesla Model X in July 2016, so very early, and got comments and thumbs ups non-stop, so I am highly curious how reactions to the iX will compare. Which answers the original question of this thread: without the grille, the iX would be in danger of looking like a half dozen other cars on the road; with it, everyone knows it's an iX. (it's bigger on the inside)
1) Why is it so important that "everyone knows" it's an iX?
2) Wouldn't it have been better if BMW had chosen a pleasing way to identify the car, rather than shocking way?
