My iX is coming to Port Hueneme (west coast) tomorrow, but my dealer told me that there's now a stop sale order due to a front driver-side airbag issue. He doesn't have info on when this will get fixed and how much delay this would mean. Has anyone else heard it? Any info on how long this will take?

Hopefully they have the new airbags at the VDC and can repair quickly. Mine is on the same ship.

My car is in Baltimore and it sounds like the same problem. My dealer said it’s a software problem and while the BMW website reached by a link from the BMW Genius email doesn’t say if it’s software or hardware, it does say the repair will only take an hour once they have the fix. At present they don’t have a fix for it and no time on when to expect it!

Parts are available now. I just took delivery of my IX M60 today.

So good news.

I went to a dealership on February 8th to test drive a refused iX XDrive 50 with the Premium and DAP packages and was blown away by it so I agreed to purchase it after the test drive but the stop sale prevented me from taking delivery. Just got the call yesterday it is ready to pick up in Madison, Wisconsin so looking forward to picking it up. Leaving this here so people know the region and when the purchase happened. Was stop sale based on the airbag recall.

This will be my first BMW, I've been an Acura, Jeep, Mercedes guy for 30+ years. Loved the reliability and overall performance of the Acura, loved the customization, configuration and hardiness of Jeep, and the ride quality of Mercedes is smooth as silk.

Looking forward to the next few years with this iX and see where I get to with BMW.

First electric vehicle as well.
