So I got my car today (MSport 50). I am based in the UK. I haven’t done too many miles yet but I absolutely love it. The ride is very comfortable, the seats are awesome and the response is great. My other car is a Taycan and whilst a different proposition, the iX holds its own - really is good to drive, the self driving software is excellent and the Camera’s make the car really manoeuvrable in all circumstances so far.

Happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

photo attached - looks awesome in black - I also have the Castenea leather which is absolutely gorgeous!

Congratulations, I can't believe you have a 50 already. My delivery is expected in May... Funnily enough I test drove a Taycan yesterday, and what a wonderful car, but probably not for me. I want a high up driving position with room for dogs, which the Porsche doesn't give me. Oddly enough I also found the seats a little uncomfortable (14 way version) which is strange as Porsche have some of the best seats in the business. I'm very curious to hear your experiences and differences with the Taycan, and everything else of course.

I have the 18 ways on the Taycan and even that is uncomfortable- which as you’re say is weird as their seats are usually amazing. Pleased to say the BMW seats are amazingly comfortable but also supportive - I have the comfort pack and the bolsters inflate etc so gives a sporty feel yet still so comfy.

the screens are great on the BMW, the way CarPlay shows on the screen is awesome - looks absolutely amazing - best I have seen on any car.

the inside of the car really feels like a Bentley (I have the Castenea interior) - simply amazing.

been for another drive tonight and I would say the pick up and instant torque is a match for the Taycan (even though on paper the Taycan is much quicker).

I even find the iconic sound actually quite good - albeit I think I will turn it off most of the time.

I have had the Tesla X (Ludicrous), Taycan, e-tron and for me the iX is the best overall package. I have also had plenty of different combustion Porsches and lots of other branded cars (I am a car guy) and I would have to say the iX is up there as the best (albeit I recognise not the most attractive externally)

I am absolutely thrilled with it so far. Have a few motorway journeys over the next few days so will get to experience it more - can’t wait!

Glad to hear you are loving it. Would be interested to know what kind of range you are getting on the iX 50. Thank you for your time!

Congrats....
Having placed my order blind I was a little bit worried about the front grille. Having seen a show room model last week I now find all the legacy kidney grilles drab and dated ;)

Look at the iX vs i4 to me the iX is a great design the i4 could have been so much better but BMW just tweeked the existing 4 series and the grill looks out of place and in real life not brilliant. I confirmed my order in March having just seen a few pictures with the forums absolutely slating the design - you don't hear reviewers go on about the grill now

We got it yesterday. This is a very nice car, the display is easy to get used to, all different areas of the car have a menu button you can push to get right into the config. I did not realize we had the massage option, pretty cool. The 4.0 does not have the air-suspension, yet not sure I miss it. Drives really well actually.

Congrats on getting your iX's guys! For range are you getting around what BMW's ratings are?

Agree that 300 miles is probably what it will be if motorway and dual carriageway driving. I am averaging less than that at the moment (260 - 270) but in warmer weather I think 300 will be possible, but certainly not 380!!

Based on the first 300 miles driven today (collected this morning) 270-300 would be realistic based on 14 degrees external and the majority being motorway.
For the iX 4.0 it seems to be between 330 and 370. Cold weather. So should be a bit more when not cold.

btw, we should start a feature request discussion. Already have a couple of things I would to get done.
More details about ongoing charging process. Better visibility of usage without having to go to the special dash setting.
disconnecting the charge cable by pushing the configurable button on the remote and add that capability to the app.
add netflix as an app. Useful during charging ;)
Make the personal profile configurable.
Anyways. Just some thoughts ;)

Oh. Kilometers. Not miles.

Have you found a way to see the actual kW charge rate, rather than the 'graph' just showing the max available from the charger. That is really going to bug me, if the best you have inside the car is just a unreadable graph.

Agreed. And no actual charge rate in the car or app. Which should be easy to add. Also not sure if the car starts pre-heating the battery if you navigate to a fast charger..
I would love to have a graph showing actual and avg consumption and predicted battery level at destination.

I have to agree that it looks spectacular in black - you are making me rethink my Blue choice - I think I have the same wheels ordered. Your impressions are really helpful (and getting me excited for whenever mine will get to me). Thanks for the post.
