Received my first OTA update on my IX50 today. Located in WA State USA. The process was pretty easy, could do it while driving or get it downloaded to my phone and transferred to the IX. I chose to do the later. The actual software update to the IX took 20 min, while it processed the upgrade. The car has to be parked and locked for it to install. BMW is pretty murky about what’s in this updates, except “overall improvements”. There is a warning the release not to double check the drive recorder and make sure you settings are still correct after the update.

I installed the same update yesterday and all went well. Does anyone know how we can find out specifically what is in an update? The info sent by BMW is very generic, such as "function updates and quality enhancements," which I find useless.

I got Remote Control Parking on my app about 24 hours after the update install. And 2 days later I got Digital Art Mode. Waiting for my next surprise.

It's so nice to receive an update where nothing, at least initially, appears broken. This is opposite my experience with Tesla software updates which almost always remove or break existing functionality.
