Hi all,

i am not sure if i should add these 2 options, so want to know the people who own or ordered the IX, whether you have Glass Controls w/ Walnut Console, and Ventilated Front Seats.

• Glass Controls, i like the wood, but some people said the crystal reflects the sunlight, some said it doesn't.
• Ventilated Front Seats, i am at Vancouver, never had ventilated seats before, not sure if it's useful. Also i heard it's quite loud.

Ventilated seats are also nice for long drives or roadtrips. They help prevent that sweaty sticky feeling after a long drive, even if the local climate isn’t too hot.

I've had no problems with glass controls either in my X5 or my iX as far as reflections/glare. The ventilated seats in my iX are quieter than those in my X5, and seem more effective at cooling (haven't tried heating yet).

Based in Helsinki, Finland (so roughly comparable climate) and have both. I really like the look and touch/feel of the 'premium interior' option, a pleasant side effect being much less fingerprints, which is a pet peeve of mine.

Ventilated seats are great, as said before prevents you from feeling 'stuck to the seat'. Also given the fairly mild climate I had never had them really going to very high setting, when in auto - meaning they are barely audible.

Love the wood and glass controls and the self-closing doors. Have not had any issues with glare from the glass controls in sunlight. Also have ventilated seats which are great.

My view was that if I found a car with the spec I wanted I wouldn’t be concerned with the crystal bits, but if I spec my own build and all options available then I don’t think I would take it.

Would have ordered the glass controls, but I personally don't like the wood optics, I don't think it matches too well with the black leather interior. Therefore I staid with the standard option, but I took the ventilated seats.

Hi. I wish i could have gotten the iX without the glass and Walnut wood center piece. Almost every reviewer said negative things with the Crystal controls reflecting the sunlight within the car and in your face/eyes.

in the USA, the packages that have a huge amount of functionality included the Crystal controls. There wad no way to get the package without the Crystal controls (I contacted the Sales Manager and he stated that it’s not possible to delete that option from the package).

So, I’m stuck with it 🤬

I’m in sunny SC and after 1 month have not found the glass controls to be an issue.

They will. They are reflective mirrors positioned at multiple angles though the cabin. Happens at least once every couple of days. It is just a dumb idea.
