I've been contemplating an iX for a while but couldn't quite bring myself to part with my 2021 530D touring. However, the local dealer got in touch last week to say they had a cancelled order sitting in stock available now, did I want it. Cut a long storey short, I collect a Storm Grey ix50 later this week. It's not the exact spec I would have chosen, but it's a great deal and I'm not sure I would want to wait 18 months for a factory order.

Couple of questions if anyone can help, where do I get a universal ipad holder from which fits in the back seat clips? I also need to get a home EV charging point installed PDQ. We have 3 phase power to the house, can anyone recommend a good charger?

Can't help with iPad holder but after much research, I opted for pod point. The hardware is fine, the app is not as good as I thought it would be. Very lucky to have 3 phase to the house!

Great news having a 3-phase supply at a residential property, you can fit an 11kw charger which adds an extra level of convenience for home charging.

I have a Project EV 11kw charger fitted at work (3-phase) which has been a solid performer under regular use. I would seriously consider a dual charger if I had a 3-phase at home just to future proof in the event you run more than one EVs.

You must have gotten your iX by now. Storm Grey is an awesome color. Can’t help you with the iPad question but re: the home charger - I had Qmerit install a Chargepoint Home Flex EV charger harwire-installed. Note the breaker in the panel should be 60A to deliver the juice at 48A (evidently they only allow 80% max delivery). Bought it on Amazon. Works great. Chargepoint app is quite good and details the cost, energy charged and miles for each charge. Happy driving the iX - takes a while to get used to the awesome POWER though !!
