Hi folks,

I just picked up my iX a few weeks ago. In general I leave the Climate control in Auto — but I noticed that there isn’t an easy way to turn climate control off: The use case is if I am going to drive with the windows down — it would make sense to be able to turn off A/C or heat. In my X5 xDrive45e I can just turn the fan speed to zero… from the climate menu however lowering the fan speed won’t allow you to lower it to zero. The only way I saw to do this is to first uncheck Auto and then turn the fan speed down to zero. Then the temperature indicators on the touch screen go from temperature (saying 75°F to saying OFF)

Anyone found an easier way to do this? There should be an easier way to turn off the climate control, and then turning it back on to “auto”…

Quickest way (that works on my iX 50) is to just say: "Hey, BMW. Turn off Climate Control."

Congrats on your new iX @SteveIsles and welcome! If you press the "all climate functions" button in the climate control menu that'll turn everything off.

Overall how are you enjoying the iX?

Excellent! I’ll try that. So far, loving my iX xDrive50 — It was worth the wait! I’m amazed by the power of the vehicle and also the comfort…

It works for me because I set it up somewhere with my voice by saying "Hey BMW" - actually the dealer set that up with me. But my partner has not done that yet and it does not recognize them. Have you set up your key phrase to activate it?
Oh its setup and functions on keyword, I just find them highly inaccurate and slow in most cases regardless of if its BMW, Apple ect :)

Once you get the latest update you can turn AC off but keep the other functions. For some reason they have removed the radiant heating and grouped it with heated seats.
To turn the fan off you need to switch AUTO off but you lose temperature control AC can stay on
I'm assumig this update will come to the US

I have this july update on the i4 but the new AC button doesn't work, it stays always on.

for the radiant heating grouping there is a new button to group / ungroup "Heat surfaces and seat" but also reported to be non working
Button “heat surfaces and seat” doesn’t work (I can’t to turn off, always on)))))

Agree on the radiant heating but AC can be switched off on my iX (well light goes off) and if max AC switched fan goes to 5 and AC on lights up, if front screen demist pressed AC is switched on and fan goes to 5, switch it off fan back to previous setting but AC stays on.
A little tweaking necessarry at least you can turn off AC now which you could not before and you can run either side fully manual
Just a point on Demist, AC on is a must to dehumidify the air but as the heat pump is working as AC warm air would come from resistance heating I suppose

@stevelsles I went to Climate- press and held "All Climate Functions" to create a shortcut- now I just swipe down shortcuts from Home, top right and turn everything off. I too think it's nice to drive with the windows down!

That doesn't work in my 50. It still has clearly refrigerated air coming out. At this time of year in Australia, I just set the auto temp to the ambient temp as indicated on the display
Are you holding down the “All Climate Functions” toggle to make the shortcut? That’s different than the A/C toggle. When I toggle the “All Climate Functions” it shuts off all climate stuff, heating or cooling, and the fans stops too.

I love driving with the windows down but like having air coming out of the vents that isn’t cooled? Could that be done?

Thanks!

Also if you long press the All Climate Functions you can add a shortcut button with that function. Then just press up with the rotary idrive in any menu (except while in Carplay) and the shortcut menu appears.
