I've been scouring through this form trying to figure out what is causing the delay of my vehicle. I am told it is the airbag and head unit recalls. But dealership has "no information" nor do they have my vehicle.

Are these just software recalls? Or is there a part everyone is waiting for? I thought recalls were either at Port or at Dealer....

Here is my order/story:

2022 BMW iX xDrive50, Blue Ridge Mountain, Sensatec Mocha

Premium Enhanced Package
Sport Package
21inch Aero Wheels,
Bicolour, Perf Non-RFT
Ventilated Seats Front
BMW i Blue Seat Belt
Driving Assistant Professional
BMW Gesture Control

(Ontario, Canada)

5/18/22 - iX is still at port in Germany.
5/28/22 - Boat arrived in Halifax
6/24/22 - Dealership invoiced for my iX "should be around the corner"
7/14/22 - "Seems like it is being held back in Toronto for a programming recall. I’ll try to get more information for you and a updated ETA"
7/25/22 - "I'’ve heard the programming fix should be out by the 28th so hopefully we can get it here by weeks end."
8/30/22 - "Still showing estimated ETA TBD"

As of today:
Safety 0065750300 (airbag control). CLOSED
Safety 0065780300 (airbag control) OPEN
Non-compliance 0065800300 (head unit) OPEN

My understanding was recalls or open campaigns are handled at a VPC at port, or the dealer - so where is my car??

My recalls changed today, the other day was showing:

Safety 0065750300 (airbag control). CLOSED
Safety 0065780300 (airbag control) OPEN
Non-compliance 0065800300 (head unit) OPEN

Now it is showing an additional line for "No recall"

Non-compliance 0065800300 (head unit) OPEN
No recall 0061840600 OPEN
Safety 0065750300 (airbag control). CLOSED
Safety 0065780300 (airbag control) OPEN

So maybe progress...

ike the subject says.... Does Airbag Recall / Replacement require software update?

I've been holding on to 8.1 and would rather not be forced to 9.0

Hoping someone who's had this replacement done can answer this question from their experience...

Did you have the "High-Voltage Cell-Module Recall" done? My SA believes my vehicle is being held at port due to it being a fire hazard. "Last thing BMW would want is for a fire to occur on our lot and potentially cause more damage to other vehicles. "

(UK - based) I have just received notice of this recall (65780300). My June delivered IX50 requires a new steering wheel then re-programming. They have said likely 1 day's work but to be prepared for 2.

I actually looked on the recall site a month or so ago and my vehicle wasn't there so must have been a recent addition.

I understood that 65780300 was about "hands on steering wheel sensor" so i assumed it was only the steering wheel electronics to be changed. If its about a new steering wheel, then im really happy!
Mine is going in for 65780300, 32310100 and 65810300 next week Thursday.

You are correct - just the electronics. Unfortunately the re-programming hasn't worked and now the service centre is at a bit of a loss so am in an X7 until Germany can de-bug.

My update went just fine, thought it could be good to know that it doesn't always go wrong. :)
There is quite a few reports of problems occurring in different areas of this car and i think that it in many cases is about lack of competence at the service centers.

It turns out that it was the dealers software that was out of date - I guess this the first they have done. They tell me all fixed now - picking it up tomorrow.
