It will surely be available in all markets I have added it as an option on mine (UK £995) towing capacity ~2.5t

Welcome to the forum @Ultrachrome! There should be the option of a hitch in North America as well. What are you planning on towing with your iX?

Also not being offered in Australia. For me, I would use it for fitting a bike rack.

Any update on tow hitches for North America? This is a must have for me, and I’m hoping to pull the trigger on an order as soon as I can confirm an option.

I just placed an order yesterday and there is no option for a hitch. I have a question into my sales advisor to see if this is going to be a dealer installed option perhaps or if it something will be available on later builds. I don't plan on towing, but plan on using it for my bike rack.

Please let us know if you find a good option for mounting a bike rack. I've used the strap-with-hook versions in the past and I don't like the way they pull on the body panels. A hitch mount would be ideal.

I too was asking about a hitch before placing my order. I spoke with Stealth Hitch who told me they’ve had many inquiries about a hitch for the ix. Rep says at least a year till they get a vehicle in to fabricate, develop and market.

i ordered BMW roof rail and bike rack till the hitch is available.

Stealth HItches will have one available soon, although just for a bike rack (no towing).

I happened upon this earlier this week. I understand they are still trying to sort out electrical as the US vehicles don’t appear to be pre-wired for trailering. Fingers crossed they get it sorted out. That said, I was delighted to see the bolt on rack setup. I went ahead and placed an order for the rack kit for now. If they get the electrical sorted, they will sell the parts needed to trailer separately.
