Went to the dealership yesterday afternoon to sign the paperwork and go through the car with their "genius", get the EA activation done, etc. I am picking it up today. So excited.

For a while I was worried that it wouldn't make it on time, 42 days at the port in CA, before they loaded it on the transport. Just beat the deadline since the new EV tax deal will be signed by the house today.

Picked it up 3 hours ago, already had to fold down both seats to haul a bunch of electrical supplies. I am putting the utility in SUV. Acceleration is unreal, I need to get the radar detector installed today. STAT.
Yeah, I've found myself going 10-15 over unintentionally a few times. It is just so easy to pick up a bunch of speed in this thing and not mean to.

Congratulations! I know yours got stuck a bit longer than mine and others so I'm glad you got it in time!

I grabbed mine right off the trailer last Friday because I was paranoid it would get grounded again by a recall, etc. It's an absolutely amazing car and the overall design works great in person. Every other car I get into feels old and dated :p

You will probably recognize me
I'm here to help with some things that people wanna know about 5th generation propulsion units.
They greatly differ from anything we have on market for EV propulsion units.
In engineering language it called moderate rotor speed with high torque and very efficient electric motor efficiency map.
Congratulations.
And i will be following you with learned experience living with this engineering peace of art.

My iX is still at the VDC, but I'm heading into the dealership today to sign the paperwork so I can qualify for the tax credit before Biden signs the IRA into law. They say I should be getting the car on Monday.
Good luck. My dealer said, BMW won't let you sign until it has been released to the dealer by being loaded onto the truck.

I gave up on the M60, still sitting in Germany with no change in recall.
I convinced my dealer to sell me the demo iX M50 in Phytonuc Blue. Picking up today and will send pics
Saved $28,000 plus still get the $7500 rebate
M60 is more artificially software calibrated with a lot of timers that actually doesn't give you full power non stop vs IX 50.
IX 50 is already on the edge between battery life SOH sacrifice and it has plenty of power in this form. To quite understand how M60 is different from ultra sport ICE vehicles that deliver power without limitation you have to live with this vehicle for more than 30-50 minutes of test drive. Take one for a week M60, then take IX 50 for another week, and you will be able to see it is not really like difference between ICE BMW and ICE BMW M series experience. I'm not trying to make war here but for people who are true enthusiasts and have experience driving M versions of BMW will find out quickly over a week of using M60 and IX 50 that is artificially time limited power output from big traction pack.
But who doesn't care spending 28k more for top of the line M version, it is your money and only person who buying can justify extra cost.
I have ordered fully loaded IX 50 in Germany.
Good luck.

The ixm60 in the UK was exactly the same price as the fully loaded 50. Plus I understand the on M60 both motors are same size where as the 50 has a larger and smaller, so not purely software(maybe I misunderstood ur comment tho). I chose the 60 for the exclusivity and what usually demands a better resale price but my hypothesis remains unproven...and for me will do so for hopefully quite a few years 🤟

I think both 50 and 60 are great choices and I may have chosen the 50 with a 28k price difference.

In my case, I needed / wanted the extra range as my one way direction every other week is 270 mi door to door along with a ferry ride which involves a lot of sitting between arriving at least 1 hour before departure, another hour plus on the actual ferry (perhaps running climate controls) and then another 10+ mile drive to actually get home. If I can make this without a charging stop, even better. Not an issue in the summer in the iX50, but I would be pushing my luck in the ixM60.

I have no complaints about lack of power in my 50.
