how do we get the car to auto lane change when drivers assist is activated? I have it activated in my settings. but then nothing happens when I hit the turn signal on the highway.

I activated drive assist as well, but it doesn't change the lane. I hit the turn signal, nothing happens.
just adding more data point to the post.

You have to do the reduced turn signal where it would just flash theee times. I don’t know what that’s called. Not the full turn signal wheee it flashed until you turn it off. Then the car does the lane change and it keeps flashing until the new lane is acquired.

Like a half turn on the signal or let it blink 3 times ?

Just lower the turn signal slightly until you notice blinker turns on and release the lever. Don't press all the way down. Usually blinker will blink 3 times and stops. I think this is what he is referring to.

You push the turn signal just to the detente - not past - toward the lane you want to merge into and then release (ignore the "hold it there" in the video). Lanes must be visible (green), and no incoming traffic in the lane you're turning into (although it won't merge into an oncoming car - it will wait until the car passes and clears an opening, and then merge without further action - the beauty of radar).

OK that is confusing
I was doing full signaling which then seemed to put me back into manual steering to allow me to change lane myself (or maybe it was because I started to move the wheel when the car wouldn't change lane?)

I do like that it will move in/out of steering control seamlessly when you do steering corrections unlike Tesla which exits out to manual and has to be re-activated.

yea, where you slightly press it to indicate a pass but it just blinks 3 times on its own and then stops. i did the same at first because that is what a tesla does. but its the halfway indication that does it in the ix.

Full signaling (pushing the turn lever down until it starts to click) tells the car you want to do a manual turn or lane change - not Lane Change Assist. Just to the detente - not past - release, and the lever will return to its original position and lane change will activate (if conditions are met - green lane lines, indicating the car "sees" the lines, no incoming cars, steering and lane guidance activated). When active a green turn arrow will appear in the lane on the instrument cluster, indicating a lane change in the direction indicated. A better video:

I use it on the highway in my X5 a lot - at least to 85 (mph). I'm not aware of any speed restrictions (other than a lower speed limit, which I believe is at least 40 mph), just lane visibility (it's a camera-based system with radar assist), so if you can't see lhe lines, neither can the car. It also needs to be a multi-lane road at least on your side I believe - it won't steer you into oncoming traffic. I assume the same in the iX.......

Picked up my IX last week , tried push half way and all the way. The auto lane change Won’t work … Any other suggestions? Many thanks
Do you:
1) Have Driving Assistant Pro in your car as an option

Did you:
2) Have ACC, Steering and Lane Keeping Assistant turned on
3) Push the turn lever just to the detent position (3-signal position), not past, in the direction you wanted to go, and release it

Were you:
4) On a multi-lane highway
5) Going over whatever the minimum required speed is in your region (over 40 mph in the US)

Were the:
6) Lane lines and steering wheel green in your instrument cluster

Was:
7) The lane clear you wanted to merge into (although if you engage it correctly, it will wait for traffic to pass and then merge - just not immediately, which is a good thing)

All of the above conditions must be met for it to work...if they were, and it didn't work, you need to visit your dealer.
