My ix (50) will arrive very soon and I need to get a barrier (half cage?) to stop the dog getting out of the boot and some bumper protection. Anyone any leads on IX accessories yet? [I am in the UK]

The dealer says they can do a rubber mat in the boot but that's about it

Best wishes

I am getting some PPF on the rear bumper to protect it but are you thinking of a mat that folds out ?
try here Boot liner

For some reason UK cars don't seem to have the clip in barrier to stop dogs jumping over the back seat

Good find! Yes, I need some kind of divider/clip in barrier - and was thinking of something to stick on the bumper rather than fold down (I have that on my dog bed if I need it). My dog will likely jump in most of the time.

I should have mine prepared end of next week hopefully so can show what it looks like, my colour is quite light - Blue Ridge Mountain

I found someone who does half-cages who want to support the IX, but need to do a scan of one and they are far from me... so order of the day is something temporary (my dog is unlikely to want to go through even a light barrier).
I hadn't known some editions come with a barrier...

When I bought my Range Rover Sport, it was one of the first out there and I got Lintran to make me up a box. They went down to the local dealership and measured up and made it for me (and presumably lots of others since). The iX has a smaller boot (grrrr) so I will probably get them to do the same - and it will be an odd shape at the top to accommodate those stupid hinges on the iX that take up loads of space. It would be worth a chat with them if you want a decent dog crate.

My first guess was that my dog cage was not going to fit in iX.
The cargo space looks really small when you look at it, but it's actually bigger than you think.
The tailgate is convex and there are more space there to be used than you "see"

You have definitely out matched me there! Bonus points for a picture of the dog too! :)

only just fitted it today, really easy install - two hooks that attach to rear seats and then adjustable feet to make the fit tighter
I think this is what I'm looking for, but so far I can't get confirmation that it is available in the US. Is this a full height thing, or does it only half height? (I can't really tell from the picture). Also, can the cargo cover still go in while this is fitted (for when the dog isn't in the car)?

Ye, And also longer. You should close it to see that there is still a lot of place 'behind'.

Good find @LewisC! Do you have the dog guard on your iX?

Thanks for the info that part number seems to work, just ordered a dog guard from BMW Warrington for my new IX, will let you know how it goes when I pick it up. I'm interested to see how it fits with a fitted mat too as in the X3 the dog guard didn't fit well with BMW fitted mat for boot.

Just picked up the dog guard and it fits a treat as LewisC said. So the part number above is correct but BMW dealers not really aware of it until you quote the part number to them. Will post pic later on. I also ordered the nice fitted mat but its not compatible with the dog guard as it has a lip around the edge of the mat that the feet of the dog guard would have to crimp down on and that wouldn't work or fit, so returned the mat. Its not a rubber mat but more like moulded plastic, so the feet of the guard just don't work with it. Apparently no compatible mat with the dog guard so will have to look for something post market.

What is the mesh between the back and the seats and how is it attached?

I can see you have a boot mat that clips to the luggage restraint hooks in the boot and looks like it folds down to protect the bumper as your dog jumps in. I've got a 30+Kg Labradoodle that's going to scratch the bumper if I don't get something similar. What is that you are using and is it any good, thanks?

I have the BMW rubber boot liner which is very good, but I need some bumper protection before doggie can go in (I am also worried about scratching)

Do BMW do a plastic bumper cover? I've seen some stick ons for other brands

When I bought the dog guard (photos on thread above) I tried the BMW fitted boot mat/liner but it doesn't fit with the dog guard because of the lip on the boot liner and the feet of the dog guard rail. I bought it from the local BMW dealer parts department and so I asked about other options and on their search they didn't come up with any other parts. However, they didn't know about the dog guard until I quoted the part number from another thread up above, so not sure that is conclusive. It might be after market, non-oem for this stuff. If you find anything that works please share source/part number etc.
