Does anyone know what’s really happening RE; IX production? I ordered my IX on 3-7-22. I’ve yet to receive any notification from BMW, no acknowledgment no nothing. I call BMW genius and they told me that I should’ve received it within two days?? I was also told by BMW genius that there weren’t any current delays, they changed production locations and it’s running full speed ahead. I asked them if they could look into my situation, they told me I would have to go to the dealership. They said that if the car was truly ordered by the dealership, I would’ve received notification and a production number. Has anybody else experienced similar situation? Just so there’s no confusion, my paperwork sales 2022 model.

Upon finalizing the order, the dealer should provide you with a "vehicle inquiry report". And when they get the allocation, they should send you a "production number", which means the order is actually sent to BMW NA, and being tracked for production.

If your dealer cannot provide you a production number, the order is not sent to BMW NA.

As @khaost said, the dealer should provide you with the 'production number'. You may want to talk to the dealer. Also, at the time of ordering, you might have received a transaction number from your bank that would verify that you have made a payment. You can request the dealer to refer to their records and recheck the status of your order.

Maybe the question I should be asking is, has anyone received a production number or a build date for a car that was ordered anytime in March or thereafter of 2022?? I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on here??

Hi, mine was ordered in March for UK delivery. Despite several attempts you get updates from the dealer and BMW genius, I still don't have a production slot and no idea of a potential completion date.

I do have an agreement number though

I ordered mine on March 9th and had to docusign the order and they gave me a report showing all the options, etc. I was told I had a summer 2022 build slot. 2 weeks later the dealer calls me and tells me my order was locked (I wanted to change colors but couldn't). The vehicle finished production in mid May and is currently sitting at the port in Germany (latest status). So talk to your dealer (sales person or sales manager) and as for the order confirmation, it should have your name on it with a status of sold next to it.

Oh my God sounds like you’re one of the few who has something good to report. I’ve been told by BMW genius that if you don’t receive the build number by the end of this month, you won’t be getting a 2022. I was told they’re stopping production of the 2022s in July and August 1 ramping up for 2023 models. Would you mind sharing where you ordered it? Besides taking my $2000, the only thing I’ve ever received from BMW was a copy of the order that I placed the day that I did it. 14 weeks later nothing.

Thanks so much for your help. I actually ordered mine on March 7th but changed the model to Ix50 on the 17th of March. I hate to keep asking questions but one final question, do you know if the car that you got was unwanted by the initial buyer? Or it was a complete new sale?
