I’m sure this has been touched on in other threads, but….

When finalizing the deal on the phone, I went for the extended maintenance plan and now I’m wondering if that was a mistake. It was around $3K extra and I’ve asked for the contract to see what that really offers me.

I pick up the car today and am thinking of passing on the extended maintenance plan, although I already signed the contract online for the car, but they don’t have my money yet.

Thoughts? Thank you!!

@Michael_CA Here in the UK, I've gone for a full maintenance plan for the 3 year lease simply because it covers not just the servicing (which I guess isn't that much or that frequent) but tyres, not just when they wear out but if they get a puncture. Given that the tyres on the 22inch wheels will be about £300 ($350) to replace, and I'm doing at least 15k miles a year (possibly 20k with some road trips), I figured let me "fix" the cost of tyre replacement in particular now, as rising inflation may mean that stuff like tyres become much more expensive in the next few years.

Many thanks for the response. I believe the tire package is separate in the US, so likely not included in the extended maintenance plan.

I passed on the extended maintenance contract for mine because the iX barely needs any maintenance and my phone app shows next service will be 2 years from date of purchase. Didn’t make sense to drop that much money for me

I agree. I had mine removed from my contract when I picked mine up today 😊
