Greetings from NJ... I placed an order for a 2022 iX50 on April 6th.. I just was notified today that my dealer received an allocation for my build order which will now be a 2023.. It is supposed to be delivered in first quarter 2023…
Storm Bay metallic, Castanea Chestnut leather, Ultimate package (new for 2023), Sport package, Laser headlights..
Very excited… Thanks to everyone for providing such an informative and helpful forum..

Congrats. Maybe the laser headlights will fully functional and approved by then.
Thanks.. I’m hoping at some point they will…
Congratulations on your new car. Once you get it, would mind sharing some photos and your feedback about your driving experience?
Check your build order carefully. I was just offered a 2023 allocation and it contained 32X hands free tailgate delete. Maybe old news here, and maybe you don’t mind, but that’s a must have for me.
The hands-free tailgate and the passenger lumbar were the 2 deletes on my build.. I am used to the convenience of the hands-free tailgate on my other vehicles and would like to have it … but neither deletion was a dealbreaker for me.. I noticed that the HUD wasn’t specifically listed on my 2023 build sheet.. it was listed on my 2022 build sheet.. I’m not certain if it is standard or part of the ultimate package or possibly no longer offered in the 2023 iX50 due to chip shortages.. Does anybody have any info on this.. much appreciated…
If by HUD, you are referring to the live cockpit, 6U3, then yes, its now only in the ultimate pkg.

I collected my 50 last week - here in Australia almost everything is standard, and the HUD is incredible. I have had it in my last few cars. Remember though you can't see it very well if you have polarising sunglasses!
I have had HUD in my last two vehicles and I agree it is extremely helpful… occasionally it can get distracting but I’d rather have it than not…
It’s a long wait. We ordered in Jan and taking delivery this month.
Congrats on getting your iX this month!! I’ll be happy if mine actually gets delivered in first quarter 2023… hopefully 6-7 months….
My car is scheduled to be completed in two weeks-I just had the dealer check my build and he called the BMW rep who said my car should have the kick open as their build sheet does not have the delete code. My last three cars have had kick to open--it's a must have for me at this point.

Good luck to all.....

Interesting timing. I ordered my M60 in early April and received a production # and build date of 10/10 on September 9. Sapphire Black Metallic, chestnut interior. Every option that I was aware of. My dealer - BMW of Dallas - said they hope to receive it before the end of the year.

Those 2 were also (auto)deleted in mine too. I was told that it was due to chip shortages.

in June/July 2022 when I was putting my order together, the 2 deletes were the passage lumber and the hands-free "kick" tailgate. My car went to production in Oct as I was told the hands-free "kick" tailgate was on all cars I believe after Aug timeframe. The only thing I did expect and was removed was the interior camera. They removed that when the 2023 iX packages were shown. I didn't know that but there isn't any way of getting that camera.

So,
  • No to the passenger lumbar
  • Yes to hands-free tailgate
  • No to interior camera.
