Just heard from my SA that my iX 50 is subject to a new recall. It entered production 10/15 and finished somewhere at the end of October or early November.

Right now he says he doesn't know any more than that there's a recall and therefore a Delivery Stop.

Has anyone else heard anything different? I checked my VIN on the BMW recall checker and nothing shows up...

I checked my vin here - BMW Safety Recalls: Check Vehicle Recalls by VIN - BMW USA. and did not see any recalls listed. I am hoping that means all is well.

Per my SA, there is a new recall but my iX isn't included 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Then they should release the car and replace the DU if it fails. What's the problem? lol

I put the VIN of my iX 50 in and it came back with no recalls. Using the link above I get an "invalid VIN" message.

My car is on a boat about to enter the Baltimore harbor!!!!

it’s about a weld seam that can break (identical to the M60 test run failure in July)
Entire electric drive unit has to be replaced. My car (delivery stop) arrived at the dealer last week, and will be “treated” between Christmas and new year.

My IX is stuck at VDC in Jersey City awaiting this upgrade and has been there for over 2 weeks.

I called bmw genius line and was told no open issue on my ix. Also asked my SA and he told me no issue for my car. And fingers crossed, hopefully there won't be new things come up before the delivery. I have already find a lender and ordered floor mat for my ix.

I tested it by ordering for our cayenne, and the mats fit perfectly as the original carpet ones. After that I ordered the uni-front/rear and trunk mats for my ix, they should arrive next week.

My IX 50 was due to be delivered on 20 December and has now been put on Delivery STOP due to recall/upgrade by BMW. Vehicle cannot be released.
BMW Dealer knows nothing more - doesnt know if its a hardware or software issue and nothing mentioned on Recall log.

Wait all this time, double checked the build sheet against specification and then BMW score another Own Goal!

Hi, just wanted to pick up iX40 from dealer and the are 2 codes. (0012920500, 0061390700) They want me to pick up by the end of December 22 so interesting if the can repair it in 10 days XD

Sometimes it is only a check. If it's faulty, then it needs to be repaired. If not, you got your vehicle back.
Sometimes it is only a software upgrade to be made. This is normally no longer then a day.
Hope you got your iX before the end of the year.

Thx I got answer that one of this code is drive unit. So I think it has to be replaced. Better now, before picking up car with 3 km on odometer.

Thank you the information; I believe my iX is under this Stop sale as well - something I was finally able to pry out of my dealer. Communication is not good with my dealer - thank you all for posting here as it where I am able to keep up with what is going on.
