I heard this morning from my sales person that the cars assigned to them will start to be released over the next couple of days. Interestingly the parts will be replaced at the port, however, the units will require
programming at the dealership prior to being sold.

He’s estimating that they will see it released as soon as they begin the fixes at the port and the car should be here by the end of the month at the latest.

Hmm, I wonder if I should still test drive that Merc EQE 350+ that I’d set up for this weekend. Very different car and too blingy inside before you even start talking about any other shortcomings - but so much cheaper.

Obviously your choice, but the only currently available car I would consider as an alt to the iX is the EQS SUV. In 18 months maybe the Volvo EX 90, or right now maybe the Taycan Off-road, but other than that, meh…

Yes, you’re right but I’ve always driven sedans all these years. Volvo, BMW, Citroen XM, Jaguar XJ and so on. Moving to an SUV/SAV was not an easy mental change for me. But having accepted that I think the iX was a compelling choice. The EQE sedan looks a little over the top blingy and I the EQS SUV does too. So I think I’ll wait for it 🙂

We drove the EQS SUV last week and the wife liked the iX better, even though the Mercedes dealer was giving better discounts it still came out to more money with all the options she wanted. She liked the layout and the ride of the iX better and we decided to wait, She really like the EQS sedan when it came out but at that time (Mid 2022) Mercedes was adding $15K on top of sticker so we waited,

My car’s recall status is cleared today. It arrived at the port (west coast) on 2/15 and has been there since. My Garage still shows at the port, however.
The first iX we had on order is still at the port waiting for the Air Bag, the one we are waiting on now was a canceled order that was at the dealer, just checked the official BMW recall site and it shows as remedy available so I will give the SA a call tomorrow and see what the status is.

I just received word that the recall has been completed on my IX50. I confirm that on the recall website. It was at the VPC in Oxnard. I'm waiting word that it made it on transport for delivery to the dealership this weekend. It sounds like there is definite movement for West Coast orders. My car was built on January 19th.

Congrats! My car (iX xDrive50) was built on Dec. 19th and no movement so far (still says Remedy Not Available). But based on some VIN sleuthing, definitely seeing movement for West Coast orders and it's a bit all over the place (i.e. no pattern on how the airbags are being allocated).

Finally picked up the car last Saturday after starting this thread. The car is my first BMW and my first EV. Honestly it feels like I'm in a space pod traveling down the highway. I'm super happy I stuck with it (and not an EQS or a 2024). The other thread convinced me to keep the 23 with air suspension and rear wheel turning.

Hope everyone else gets theirs soon and is able to negotiate a nice discount!

I'm in the almost the same situation with production date in mid December and arrived the west coast via Dorado Leader in mid Feb. Last night the website still showed open safety recall but this morning the status was changed to closed! Yours should be ready soon I believe

You were right - it now says 0 open recall and from one of the recall tool websites I can see the safety recall has indeed been addressed (Closed). Wooo!!
