New stop sale?

Just got an email from SA saying that the iX I was picking up on Tuesday has a new stop sale for an airbag recall? This wasn't there when it arrived earlier in week and isn't showing up on the BMW VIN, so wondering if there is new action on the horizon. Anyone else have info on this?

If you are a Costco Member you can go to Costco Auto and tell they you are looking for a car they will show you which dealers in your area participate, you go to the dealer tell them you are a Costco member and they show you the invoice and give you a discount based on the car you are wanting to get. Costco will also follow up and make sure the dealer gave you a discount, the first time we used it the salesperson was not the Costco certified Rep and didn't give us the correct price and a couple of days later we received a check from the dealership for the what the discount should have been. AAA also has a similar program.
So you mean you paid the sticker price on the day of delivery and then after several days the dealer mailed you a $2500 check?

The dealer is supposed to show you the invoice and then give you a discount, the first time we bought a car with the Costco program the sales person lied to us and said they were giving us the Costco price, when Costco called to check with us how the experience was my wife expressed her concern and Costco reached out to the dealer and told them they violated the program and amke it right or they would be kicked out of the program, the dealership sent us the check to comply with the terms of the program and Costco called us again to make sure we got the refund.
Normally the discount should be given to you at the time of purchase.
For our iX the SA went to the manager and they had a paper with the car identified by VIN, the MSRP less the Costco discount for the first car we looked at with Sensatech it was $2150 and the one we are getting with leather it was $2500 discount

Are they obligated to show you the invoice? But what is the invoice price you’re seeing? Is it MSRP or something else?

I called my dealer and they said there is no Costco discount on my car. Although I’m a Costco executive member and I have a Costco buying service Authorization Number. And I’m also seeing in the email that I received from Costco, it says:
“On the year, make, model and trim you selected, your Costco Member discount is as follows:

Market Adjustment
100%

Does it mean it should be sold at full price? So maybe in California because iX are in high demand so they are not willing to discount because the next guy in line will pay full price. Anyway, they said the car that I ordered and I’m been waiting for months will be sold at MSRP to me.. so I wonder maybe you’re buying an iX that is already the dealership’s stock(someone else dropped their order), not the specific car that they ordered for you, is that correct? Maybe when an iX becomes their stock they’re more willing to give a discount to sell. That’s just my guess.

Hi all, I have a question about iX though not related to recall...Hope someone can help...
So on EQS SUV there is a release button next to the charging port. For level 2 chargers I can just press the button and the power will be cut off and plug can be released. However I don't find such a button on iX. Does it mean I can just unplug even when the car is still charging? Though that sounds not safe. Thanks.

I think the charger handle side has the logic to stop the current when they are pulled out. Tesla's don't have any buttons on the car, and you can just pull it out it will stop charging. So there's no need to have any "Release" on the card side. I'm guessing that on the ESQ button next to the port is to lock/unlock and prevent someone from unplugging, it doesn't affect the flow of the current.

The charging cable will remain locked while the car is locked normally. This will prevent someone from just walking up and unplugging the cable if you're using an L2 charger. You can set it to unlock when charging is complete so you can remove it at home with your car locked if you choose, or leave it like that for travel, although that means someone can remove the cable when charging is complete (which theoretically won't matter). If the car is unlocked when charging on an L2 EVSE, just pressing the lock button on the cable should disconnect the power (might take a second or two), and the car itself should stop the charging process. On some cars just pressing the "unlock" button on the fob cuts the power (sometimes just briefly), but I'm not sure on the iX.
Is anyone else still waiting on an EDU? My car had the airbag recall fixed at the VPC a week ago but still no fix on the EDU.

Yes I am waiting too
I got tired and found my spec at another dealer. The trick is getting my deposit back.
Buying a non Tesla EV is just a bizarre experience.

I got so tired of the Tesla BS and wanted to get something as quick as my (since yesterday former) Model 3P. BMW advertises the i4 but in reality the M50 version is effectively “sold out” for year(s) so what’s the point showing it on their website?

After 10 months of no movement (only 15 people ahead of me at a huge Dallas dealership. 15 people in a several million metro area. BMW can’t even provide 15 allocations in almost a year), I wanted to buy an in stock iX M60. But that particular one is still stuck in indefinite “Remedy not available” status. More than a month for replacing an airbag?!

I canceled that one too and just picked up another in stock iX M60. I know, kinda dumb doing business with a company that doesn’t seem to want to produce and sell their EVs. Elon can thank the competition, all of them, for making it easy for him.

The iX (and the i4) are incredible but BMW needs to get their act together and execute.

Is that the Phytonic Blue Metallic? Looks great!
Yes - phytonic blue metallic. It looks much better in person than online (which I think is a theme of most colors)

The colours on BMW’s website are worse than pictures gleaned from the web! The oyster interior is actually a warm shade and not the almost stark white they show. The same with the exterior colours :-(
I have the EDU stop sale along with the airbag and external sound generator issues. I have not been able to take delivery of the car that arrived at my dealership in December.

I have been monitoring the recall site (both the official bmw site as well as the github tool). I found out a few days ago that all of the items on recall are now closed so I assumed that means they were fixed.

I reached out to my sales person today. He said they just received the parts but the car has not been fixed, he says they are lining up the cars needing repairs and should have mine ready by END of April, which is almost a full month from now. He said only the master mechanics will be working on it.

Based on the comments in this forum, I thought that when the recalls show as closed that means that the repairs are done? Is the sales guy bullshitting me? I have had to chase this guy for every update and I cant get a straight answer.

Is it worth it to email the GM to get a straight answer or am I wasting my time?

The EDU stop has been and continues to be a disaster in the U.K. also.

How is it possible to put a stop sale on an IX50 on Dec 18 and not yet fixed but then take an Order for an M60 in early Jan and Deliver it now?

I’m glad I cancelled and jumped onto a new Order - but that was an instinctive move, many others who persevered and believed the dealer’s tales, now have 5 month ‘old’ pre-registered cars which they have still not taken delivery of.
I would hope that there must be some serious compensation payments being made for a ‘nearly new’ vehicle !! 👎👎👎👎
Here's an update on the airbag recall. I scheduled an appointment at my local dealership for other diagnosis and thought I would have them install the replacement air bag at the same time since the "MyBMW app" said that the parts are now available and the estimated repair time is 1 hour. The service advisor had full knowledge of the recall but had to call to the parts department to see if they had the part in stock, which they did not. The advisor said that their procedure is for the dealership to open a "case" with Allah to have Allah send them the parts. He said that he had no idea when he would receive the new airbag but he would contact me to schedule a follow up appointment. (Yep, my info is now on a sticky note on his desk.) I'm not surprised that the replacement parts are not available however a bit frustrated that the MyBMW app does not give you info on the proper process to follow. The irony is that there is a postcard on the advisor's desk that they hand out to owners saying they would like to purchase all used BMW vehicles so that more people can "enjoy white glove service!" I guess paying $130K for a new vehicle is just another transaction.

Here's an update on the iX driver air bag recall. The local dealership told me that they needed to inspect the factory air bag to see if it required replacement, and mine did. They opened a service request with BMW corporate to receive the replacement parts. Four days after brining in my iX for service, BMW has approved the replacement. The dealership is waiting on the replacement parts to arrive with no info on timing. Of course, they are holding on to my vehicle until the replacement can happen. I will post another update after I have the iX back in my hands!
