Hello all, picked up my IX 50 couple of weeks ago, love it so far. We have 2 teslas at home and the one thing I am missing is the window closing upon walking away from the car. It Shuts down and locks but keep the windows open. Am I missing anything here?

There may be an automation option under the Doors/Windows app. Otherwise the traditional option for BMW is just to hold down the BMW logo on the key fob to open or close all windows remotely.

Nope, the car does not roll up the windows automatically afterward. I wish it did though,,,its a nice feature

Have you talked to a BMW Genius and suggested that BMW added that option in the next update in iDrive8?

Another way to close the windows automatically is also to hold your finger on the driver or passenger door “handle button” (the 3-line “hamburger menu”). First touch of the button closes the doors, keep holding your finger there and it will roll up the windows. But yeah, it would be great to have an option to automatically close the windows too, but I bet the reason why they require manual intervention to close the windows is a safety thing (in case someone’s hand or fingers or something is caught hanging out a window….

If you use your key FOB, PUSHING AND HOLDING the Lock Door Button, it will close all windows.

You need to switch the option on. Go to vehicle apps, then to doors and windows app. From there, go to automatic windows and turn on the automatic window option. It’s weir but if this is not on, the closing of windows won’t work (although the opening of windows works). Idrive8 has tons of glitches like that
