Yes it is. My previous ride was a 2020 Macan S. I drove a F10 11 years ago and i am finally back to the Bm badgeHey @EdiX, will the iX be your first EV?
Honestly, i wasnt looking for an EV at first. I am staying in a condo and my apartment does not have any charging facility. My original intention was to get a Cayenne coupe or a Maserati Levante. Somehow, i stumbled onto the ix on youtube and i was blown away by the tech: AR navigation, Autopilot, Auto Parking, impressive ambient lighting, a 14.9” full screen wireless carplay and AA.. Wow! I then went for a test drive and i was amazed the handling and comfort were really top notched, despite no adaptive air suspension. My wife loves the rear cabin space and is perfect for our baby boy. Thus, my first EV and hope we made the right decision☺Congrats on your order @EdiX and welcome to the forum! What sold you on the iX compared to other EVs on the market?
What island are you on that doesn't have a dealer? Lanai, Kauai, or Molokai? So do you have to fly to Oahu or Maui and buy there, then they barge it to your island later?Aloha Everyone,
We are told we were the first in Hawaii, made the decision entirely based on data and no direct experience with the iX other than the short and square 15 minute test drive prior to signing the docs. However it is worth noting we have owned a 3 series Sports-wagon and 6 BMW motorcycles over the years. An R1200GS still provides reliable commuting miles and plenty of smile in the twisties. No dealer on our island. We are trusting the Engineers behind the iX and the processes in place at BMW. We feel that every decision we make steers our global direction.
We feel that the iX is our tiny nudge towards a sustainable future, we have to admit that there it comes with a reasonable level of pleasure to be had, oh well.
We commute together to minimize our impact, and the xDrive50 certainly reduces our footprint vastly in comparison to the alternatives that fit our lifestyle.
I wish the Air Suspension gave us a bit more clearance when needed, but it suffices as it stands.
We will do our best to update the community with our feedback and any lessons learned.

We are on Kaua'i, yes I had to fly to O'ahu and buy it there, BMW of Honolulu is versed in the matter and managing the YB barge setup , they handled the reservations, dropoff and are extremely helpful. What island are you on that doesn't have a dealer? Too bad they don't have the ferry anymore. I live on an island (San Juan in WA state) and luckily I can take a ferry to the mainland to take my car to the dealer for service. We are on Kaua'i, yes I had to fly to O'ahu and buy it there, BMW of Honolulu is versed in the matter and managing the YB barge setup , they handled the reservations, dropoff and are extremely helpful.
