Great point. I'm definitely going to ask the dealer about the hood issue for PPF at delivery.Just a heads up...doing a proper PPF application will require the hood to be opened. You might have to walk them through it if it's their first IX.
How do you like the PPF and coating so far. I am considering the same when I take delivery. Also, may I ask how much it costs?Just did PPF on the full front and a ceramic coating.
I will be keeping my iX for a long time, garaging it at home, barely driving 3-5k miles/annually, would this keep the exterior in awesome shape(color = Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic) - would anyone feel is worth the cost of a full coat XPEL wrap? Did I read the posting from vinsanity correct, $5k-$10k? Is the type of process or material makes the cost double???Taking delivery hopefully mid-July (at port now), planning on full PPF, like some sort of satin finish (gray, midnight purple, etc). I ordered white for production. Planning to drive the car a LOT (>30k miles/year) and keeping the car a while so yeah, worth it. Full PPF is $5-10k properly done so may not be worth it for the leasers. I talked to my sales guy and basically since there are no lease specials on the iX, the residuals are in the 40% range which means leases at 36mo/10k are in the $1700-1800 range. Financing is the only way most dealerships will give you the $7500 federal tax credit (they were nicer pre-pandemic/chip shortage and would share it on leases), so I’m financing and PPF makes sense.
