I took the iX mirror plastics off today to try and hookup my mirror tap for switched 12V to power the Escort radar detector. The same 4 wire connector that used to be present on previous bimmers still exists, but the far right wire is now red instead of green/purple. The problem is that the red wire appears to be constant 12V instead of switched 12V due to the cameras being up there in the mirror cluster.

So my question is, is there somewhere to pickup switched 12V up there or will I just have to remember to turn off the fuzz buster every time I park the car and remember to turn it back on when starting a drive?

Yes. Just did this myself following this video. It shuts off but takes a few minutes.
