Only had my IX40 for a few weeks now so not used in the winter yet. Can anyone explain how the heated seat and steering wheel come on when pre-conditioning if they are both turned off on climate control? My previous X5 had a setting so that the heated seat would automatically come on when dropping below a set temperature but this option is not available on IX. Would the heated seat and wheel need to be turned on when exiting vehicle to work on pre-conditioning or does the car determine the temperature and turn them both on if its cold?
They seem to be automatic this is all it says in the manual, I got mine in January and did notice once the steering whel heating came on and I hadn't switched it on
Everyting turns on a soon as you enter the car never had that on a car before, the AC is on or everyting is off no hetting or cooling without AC
General
The pre-conditioning can be switched on and off
directly or for a preselected departure time.
Depending on the equipment, the following air
conditioning functions are controlled automatically:
▷ Seat and armrest heating.
▷ Panel heating.
▷ Active seat ventilation.
▷ Steering wheel heating.
▷ Rear window heating.
▷ Mirror heating.
The air automatically flows out of the air vents to
the windscreen, side windows, upper body area
and the footwell.
The system shuts down automatically after approximately
30 minutes or by activating the driveready
state.
