The first time I charged my iX, it said it would take 2 and half days to get to 100%. I'd heard that the iX was slower to charge than our Model X, but that was a bit ridiculous. I later figured out that the AC Limit, under the charging menu, was set very low. I cranked it up to 48 A, and now get a full charge overnight. Not sure if that was an oversight in my dealer prep, or whether BMW wants owners to change that setting themselves, but passing along the info either way. I'm using the Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter with our existing tesla charger which works just fine. Best vehicle I've ever driven, btw.

I don't think charging below 11kW will make a difference. Fast chargers maybe, but the iX is in my opinion conservative.
I just have a first impression that charging on a single phase is less efficient then charging at 3 phases.
I can control my Alfen charger by modbus for the technicians on this forum.
Will investigate this further if there is interest in it.

I wonder if has to do something with the battery life. The slower it charges the more durable it becomes. I am following this thread to see what others have to say on this.
AC charging ~ 30A DC into the battery DC Rapid ~ 550A so make your own conclusions. It has been said in the past AC charging to 100% will help with cell balancing but you don't hear much about that these days

I think you are correct as natural 3 phase AC -> DC has far less ripple than single phase -> DC
