Having come from a Tesla Model X, the ios App allowed me to heat or cool the car, seats and steering wheel anytime I liked, or maintained a cool cabin in summer, does the bmw app permit this for the IX50 as I’m struggling to see anything related to this In the app. Having the feature of pre heat/defrost in winter, as it’s coming soon in UK was a huge benefit of the Tesla Model X.

if it’s not available is there a forum committee that presents ideas to BMW directly, to me it’s an easy enough software development ask.

In the App, goto "Charge & Climate Settings". Then click Charge & Climate Timer - EDIT. In there, you can set automatic climate control for your departure time. Works well for me.

Not sure you can set a temperature though, or individually set the seats to heat up. Will give it a try though and see outcome…thanks

It comes on at the temp it was set at when it was turned off. For me, it seems to be learning my preferences so when i set the temp to 22, the seat warmers and steering wheel warmers come on themselves, even though i haven't asked them to.

The first time I used it, my son and i got in the car and were amazed by how the car seemed to be looking after us

Thanks, I will for sure give it a go, it will be interesting to see what happens when we get really cold in UK and have to set the front and rear defrosters on;-)

That was also a general question I had for this system, and haven't really tried it yet because the weather has been warm consistently. If you set the seat heating (snd steering wheel heating) to "On," will it only come on if the system "thinks" it's cool enough? Or stay on all the time? In the latest iteration of iD7, there was a function to set automatic seat and steering wheel heating based on ambient temperature. Haven't seen in iD8, but the seat ventilation seems to work that way....

From my experience so far, if you turn it on, it stays on. If it is off and you turn the ambient temp on, it seems to come on automatically. When it has been cold, i have noticed it come on when i get in and then turn off after a while. There appears to be a system, but I'm not taking much active attention so I don't have systematic data; more anecdotal recollections.
