UK Bridgestone Alenza 001 tyres - done after 6,000miles

Hello, I have had my iX M40 for 6months and done 6,000 mainly driving around the city in the UK.

Both rear tyres are below the legal limit and the front ones are on the limit.

BMW dealership are not interested in covering the costs for replacements and put it down to normal wear and tear. For me this is obviously below average and would expect to get ~12,000 miles out of them.

Im looking for advice of anyone else experiencing the same issue and if you got any discount off replacements? TIA
@Begg10 Oh no. What tyre pressures have you been running front and rear?

Out of curiosity, are the tyres evenly worn? If not, it could be due to wheel alignment being off from the factory.

I've also got an iX40 and drive mostly in London, and I think I got around 12k miles for the rears, and 19k for the fronts. That's with Pirelli P Zero Elects 22 inch.

The rear ones set at 2.4bar and front set at 2.1 as per recommended. I agree there is definitely and issues with the alignment and this is not average wear and team but BMW in Aberdeen are not taking any responsibility so feel I’m back into a corner to pay £350 for replacing each tyre. No discount offered!

Mine is the iX40 Msport with 22”. Im interested why your is Pirelli and mine are Bridgestone, any idea why this is?
@Begg10 I've read that other iX folks with factory fitted Bridgestones are finding them worn before 10k miles are reached, without aggressive driving. If your tyres are evenly worn all round, then I'm not sure the alignment would be responsible.

Hmm, my iX40 (Sep 22 build) says front as 2.2 bar and rear at 2.6 bar, so I wonder why your recommended pressures are lower than my car, when we have the same size tyres and wheels? That's from the blurb when you open the driver's door.

Regarding why yours came with Bridgestone and not Pirelli, I have no idea. Maybe you have the other style of 22" wheels than mine do? This is the style I have. Regarding replacements, you are free to experiment and try a different brand/tyre type for your rear tyres, and maybe you can find tyres that are much longer lasting (which may not necessarily be EV optimised tyres like the Bridgestone and Pirellis fitted to the iX are)?

Finally, you could try contacting Bridgestone in the UK, raise a complaint and see what they say? I can see it from your perspective but also from the dealer's perspective, e.g. how can you prove that you just drove the car normally, and wasn't flooring it at every opportunity? What is "normal" life of factory fit tyres on any car? 10k miles? 20k miles? 30k miles? 40k miles?

I think this is sort of true - they are the same, but the OE versions have less tread depth to save a few dollars.
@exxxviii That could explain why @Begg10 is reporting unusually short life of the factory fitted tyres. Maybe they came with significantly less tread depth than one would get on most tyres?

I had the Bridgestones factory fitment on my M60 and had them replaced with Pirelli's today at just under 18k miles

The rears were past the limit (shame on me for not spotting the uneven wear on the inner shoulders) however the fronts still have about 4-4.5mm surprisingly, so I kept them both as spares should the inevitable puncture happen.

I did pay the dealer premium for convenience, would have saved a packet by fitting them independently.
@neildmb The uneven wear on the inner shoulders of the rear tyre is due to the negative camber that BMW set on the iX, right? It's deliberate by BMW in terms of optimising handling, from what the dealer told me.
