Yes it seems the U.K. market still has capacity for the M60 - smells like the numbers for that model are down ??

The sweet spot for me would have been a launch spec M50 with the Tech Plus and Comfort Plus packs plus 22” wheels.
I certainly do not require moon roof or tow hitch!

And even though the price of that spec would be similar to the M60 - I’d take the M50 for the extra range.

However, for whatever reason, BMW have removed the possibility for us to purchase such a vehicle.

Weird?

That position will become more unsustainable as competition enters this segment - especially the Merc EQE SUV which I would have gone for but hasn’t been released yet.

BMW??? What are you doing!

surely you want to get MY24 with new idrive etc? You are literally getting the last of the old.

This is very true - but I'm getting a fully loaded iX M60 with B&W & +100HP for much less than a IX50 Msport Ed of MY23 spec.
I'm sure Order was a special because the price was special, but as the new iDrive doesnt add 100 miles of range, I'm not that concerned as there is no way I could afford the price of the new MY24 lease?

Regarding the move to new Android I-drive v8.5/9, information is sparse at best.
I’ve searched and there’s no mention of any I-drive update on IX MY24 - not even 8.5 which may have the correct hardware which is still?????
The roll out across the BMW model range is very slow but functionality at first will be no more than that of v8 but will diversify as time goes on as the Android version will have the new updates whereas as v8 will be put into “maintenance” mode.

Lucky you!
Hope your buy-off goes well and you can start to enjoy the thrill of EV torque heading into Spring.

I’d be interested to know the “BMW Charge”p/kWh at the 250kW IONITY charge points and how easy it was to register?

I keep reading that it’s 29p/kWh at best and it’s discounted for 1 year unlike in the US where they have unlimited Charges for 2 years FOC and in Australia they get 5 years of 30m charge sessions FOC.
Yet another area we get ripped off on!

@Croddlebopper It's 26 p per kwh with the BMW discount. Setting up is very easy using this link

Ripped off in the UK? I have a different perspective. I worked out that the savings (various tax breaks, almost 90% discount on parking in parts of London, no tolls, fuel savings, maintenance etc) mean that I'm saving more each month running the iX vs driving a petrol/diesel SUV, than the cost of the lease, so effectively, the net cost is zero for me.

My friends in other countries including the USA don't have the same level of EV savings that I'm getting here in the UK.
Thanks for that info.
26p/Kwh is actually very cheap at todays rate - especially for a high power DC charge.

At that price it is almost worth paying the monthly fee after the first free year because you’d get your money back after maybe one charge per month (70Kw) when compared to todays 69p/Kwh typical charge price on other networks.

70 x (0.69-0.26) £30.10

that assumes you have IONITY “en route”

…. or am I missing something??? 🤔

Same here, Corporate Order, Factory had issued estimated build date on Feb 23 but I’ve not had a confirmed build date … yet!
My Order is for an MY23 spec vehicle and I have read that MY24’s were due for build start in March so I’m hoping that the 23’s will get cleared up first.
Nothing confirmed but I’m assuming these delays are due to the Front EDU beam weld Delivery Stop problems sapping vehicle production of EDU’s …. Unless the Beam Weld problem is a lot more sinister ?!?

FYI I have not read anywhere of any of the Delivery Stop Front EDU’s having been swapped out yet??? 🤔

I understand your frustration.

The way BMW operate their corporate and private business in the U.K. is all based on “Dealer build allocations”.

When ordering here, it is always wise to call a few Dealers to see if they have any build allocations available as you may get an earlier delivery.

I didn’t ask around, but in January, I snagged a super online deal on an IX M60 which had a build allocation in February with delivery in March/April - so it’s an MY23 build - this was probably the reason for such a deal as post March are MY24 models.

I lucked into this position and I keep looking back online and there are no such deals going on now.

You’re right - the forced options I had on my first order which were totally inappropriate for me were ..

Moon Roof that is never dark (only at night)
Retracting Towbar !

But i couldn’t order Tech+ pack either which was the same cost???

I now have a factory confirmed build date of week starting 27th Feb 22.
This M60 will probably be the last of the MY2023’s which will have a dead end ID8 system - but I’m just glad to get a build date. 😉

What colour and wheels did you go for.

I went Storm Bay with 1021 personalised rims …. but actually now I’m thinking I should have opted for the Blue Ridge Mountain or Grey Oxide both with Bronze trim?

decisions decisions!

That’s nice …
It’s an intriguing colour as it changes according to the lightand the angle you’re looking at.

…. and it hides the dirt!

good choice I think!

Thank you. It does need better wheels. The BMW offerings are a bit busy.
I second that - these “air efficient” wheel designs are far from glamorous - and are worse in the flesh compared to the brochure.

Not sure if that will change in the short term

The Mercedes EQS SUV has some interesting wheel design options - but the pics are mostly pre-production glamour shots so maybe the actuals will be more mundane??

I saw the 'AMG' wheels on the EQS SUV and on that car they're spectacular. I've been perusing the online wheelmongers' websites. There are some fine OZ and BBS offerings, but alas I am piss poor.
I know what you mean. I looked up 22” 1021 individual wheels looking for a decent picture and the BMW Rims are going for £3,200 a set with 25% off - not including tyres!

So list price with Tyres would be circa £5,400 - for a set of wheels and tyres! madness!

I think mine will be around the same time as yours - week 9. Should arrive late March.
Hi NikB - did you hear any more about your build?

I have a VIN and it suggests the vehicle was built on 27 Feb, but has since been awaiting "Factory Inspection" before it is released into the wild?

I'm concerned as this inspection phase is now >2 Weeks and doesnt ring true in my mind and dreading a Delivery Stop!.

I've asked for an accurte update - maybe its just the Portal that isn't updated??.

My order is a lease and I asked them to contact the dealer directly to get an update after their Portal reported the vehicle as being built but awaiting factory inspection since Feb 27.
I trust the guy who looked it up but hope they weren’t just making me happy with some BS.

The fact that yours is logged as being in inspection as mine is still on the web has me wondering 🤭

Let’s just hope the portal updates are lagging. 🤞🏻
