Ripped off in the UK? I have a different perspective. I worked out that the savings (various tax breaks, almost 90% discount on parking in parts of London, no tolls, fuel savings, maintenance etc) mean that I'm saving more each month running the iX vs driving a petrol/diesel SUV, than the cost of the lease, so effectively, the net cost is zero for me.

My friends in other countries including the USA don't have the same level of EV savings that I'm getting here in the UK.

For some reason almost all U.K. subsidy is through BIK which I honestly don’t understand. Taxpayers are propping up taycan, EQS and Ix sales!

Just curious, is it possible for you folks in the UK to pick up in Deutschland if you wanted to?

Last week I was told by my (EU) dealer this isn't possible anymore.

Out here lead time is 5-6 months currently.

Air and 4WS are off the menu indefinitely, but still standard fare on the 60M. There seem to be 150+ cars floating around our dealer net (available per direct) but only one 50 with air sus and 4WS. All dealers are trying to flog 'stock' vehicles at or near list.

Edit : the online configurator was updated on the sly: for the iX50 the new price 'without AS and 4WS' is now the previous prices 'with AS and 4WS'. It does seem to have gained 22 kWh charging and comfort access as standard equipment. There also appears to be a 2% price hike on top of that.

26p/Kwh is actually very cheap at todays rate - especially for a high power DC charge.

At that price it is almost worth paying the monthly fee after the first free year because you’d get your money back after maybe one charge per month (70Kw) when compared to todays 69p/Kwh typical charge price on other networks.

70 x (0.69-0.26) £30.10

that assumes you have IONITY “en route”

Quick update, enquired with dealer again today and been told I still haven't got a build slot but keep checking back. That's over a month which seems really strange compared to what others have experienced

I was told mine should be built early March for end of March delivery. However they haven't given me a build date yet.

I can't even get that information out of them. It's just keep checking back in and we will let you know, really disappointed with the dealer so far

Corporate customer. Have gotten 3 cars from the dealer before and never had this experience. Making me consider just buying privately before my current contract runs out

I'm corporate too and they've been really good for the most part. I think they could be more forthcoming with being specific about things like dates but that's just me being picky.

I'm just hoping for a rough timeframe. Another colleague of mine went with a Merc and ended up having their order cancelled due to delays their now trying to get a new car sorted in time for their contract ending

Same here, Corporate Order, Factory had issued estimated build date on Feb 23 but I’ve not had a confirmed build date … yet!
My Order is for an MY23 spec vehicle and I have read that MY24’s were due for build start in March so I’m hoping that the 23’s will get cleared up first.
Nothing confirmed but I’m assuming these delays are due to the Front EDU beam weld Delivery Stop problems sapping vehicle production of EDU’s …. Unless the Beam Weld problem is a lot more sinister ?!?

FYI I have not read anywhere of any of the Delivery Stop Front EDU’s having been swapped out yet??? 🤔

I don't get this, like, at all. There are people buying cars in January getting a February build date, and people buying cars on roughly the same day and getting a mid July delivery date. And if I open the attic window and squint real hard I can see the factory (in a manner of speaking). Is there any method tot he madness ?

I understand your frustration.

The way BMW operate their corporate and private business in the U.K. is all based on “Dealer build allocations”.

When ordering here, it is always wise to call a few Dealers to see if they have any build allocations available as you may get an earlier delivery.

I didn’t ask around, but in January, I snagged a super online deal on an IX M60 which had a build allocation in February with delivery in March/April - so it’s an MY23 build - this was probably the reason for such a deal as post March are MY24 models.

I lucked into this position and I keep looking back online and there are no such deals going on now.

Out here it appears that dealers either have 'stock', or you're in the queue. Unfortunately dealers have the habit of loading cars up with bling I don't need nor want, like that silly glass roof, 22" alloys, crystal knobs and so on.
I am now in a position where I ordered a car based on the MY23 order/pricelist, but it's going to be built in MY24. As long as they don't think they're going to get more money out of me.

I don't like the crystal effects either which is why I avoided it. I wanted a few options like comfort plus and adaptive air suspension although from the sounds of things I won't get the latter.

You’re right - the forced options I had on my first order which were totally inappropriate for me were ..

Moon Roof that is never dark (only at night)
Retracting Towbar !

But i couldn’t order Tech+ pack either which was the same cost???
