Hi
I ordered my IX M60 on April 2nd, with the dealer telling me it would be 1st qtr 2023 before I would take delivery.

I was originally told that BMW are handling all the slots for the M60, and they would confirm the order at the end of May.

It is now the middle of July, and the dealer has not heard anything from BMW, but its definitely not cancelled, and the M60 is now not even for sale, with the BMW website stating July 2023 delivery.

So the question I have is, Am I being given the run around, or are many other M60 orders in the same boat.

Many thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

There is a queue for orders of the M60. Hopefully you have an order number from BMW? If so then I think all is good although I understand BMW have not got any more allocated production at the factory for this model hence why they have taken it off sale on the website. People with orders in the queue will then be allocated build slots as and when they are released.

I hope that helps.

Good evening,

I ordered my IX M60 early March, at which point I was told the car would be ready towards the end of the year.

Then around 3 weeks ago I got an email from my dealership telling me the car had been built and was on its way to the UK. Since then it has arrived and is now like most electric BMWs at the moment stuck at the dealership under a stop sale.

Given my experience I think the factory simply make it up as they go along. You could be surprised and it might turn up at any point.

Hi

No I have not got an order number from BMW. My dealer told me BMW were not processing the orders in the normal way. In theory I was to get an order number at the end of May, but that has not happened.

Hi Again,

I have just spoken to the dealer that I do a lot of work for and also have an order with for an iX M60, which has just been manufactured and is sitting at the factory.

They think it is very unlikely you will get an iX M60. Initially most UK dealers were allocated 1 or 2 units depending on their yearly sales, I know some dealers did not get an allocation at all.

A waiting list was then created and initially there were around 80-90 people on it. BMW released another 25 cars so people at the top of this waiting list were contacted for deposit and then had their orders confirmed once they paid this deposit.

The dealership I have just spoken to think that BMW will not be making any more M60's after they have completed all current orders. So it in fact becomes a very limited special run.

Sorry about this but I hope it explains more - pretty bad if the dealer you have been in contact with has not explained!

I hope that helps

After getting the earlier responses I have spoken to my dealer, and it does seem I have a BMW order number with a status date of 2nd April, and it has the status of 'Order without available dealer quota'

I suppose I just need to keep my fingers crossed I will get an allocation eventually.

So to update you, we ordered our M60 in early Decemeber! We were told March/April delivery, it went into production on April 2nd, our M60 changed to assembly completed in mid May. We were meant to get delivery And the launch was meant to be June 18th we were told. Then that got cancelled, our car never went into transit, it was stuck on production completed on status 155, and delivery dates moved from June 24th, to July 28th. Now I’ve been told there has been a hold on another M60 due to valet car parking mode and airbag control unit. So this may be why are car hasn’t been released for delivery yet. I’m at the end of me tether! We have a dog and a baby and we need our SUV so our dog and extra passenger don’t have

Interesting! We ordered our M60 in December. We were told we’d get delivery in March/April then that got pushed to May, and on April 22nd it completed assembly and we had status 155. It was then stuck on that and our delivery got pushed out to June 24, and then it still stayed on 155 until July when our delivery changed to this week. It’s only changed to 182 and seems to be stuck in germany awaiting transfer. Been told one M60 has been held back from being aloud to be registered in UK road due to safety hold, something to do with auto park and airbag control unit. So something is happening that is causing these delivery stops!

Update on mine - it arrived at Cardiff on Monday 11th July, I've been to see it but that's as close as I'm getting to it. No updates from BMW regarding any updates, I chased the dealership on Friday and still no signs of any updates for the issues. I'm guessing that mine is the M60 which you mention above, the wait goes on. If it rolls over into next month then I see no point in taking delivery until September. That's assuming there is a fix by then..
