UK IX M60 order

3932 Views 49 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  psharrock
Hi
I ordered my IX M60 on April 2nd, with the dealer telling me it would be 1st qtr 2023 before I would take delivery.

I was originally told that BMW are handling all the slots for the M60, and they would confirm the order at the end of May.

It is now the middle of July, and the dealer has not heard anything from BMW, but its definitely not cancelled, and the M60 is now not even for sale, with the BMW website stating July 2023 delivery.

So the question I have is, Am I being given the run around, or are many other M60 orders in the same boat.

Many thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

There is a queue for orders of the M60. Hopefully you have an order number from BMW? If so then I think all is good although I understand BMW have not got any more allocated production at the factory for this model hence why they have taken it off sale on the website. People with orders in the queue will then be allocated build slots as and when they are released.

I hope that helps.
Hi

No I have not got an order number from BMW. My dealer told me BMW were not processing the orders in the normal way. In theory I was to get an order number at the end of May, but that has not happened.
Hi Again,

I have just spoken to the dealer that I do a lot of work for and also have an order with for an iX M60, which has just been manufactured and is sitting at the factory.

They think it is very unlikely you will get an iX M60. Initially most UK dealers were allocated 1 or 2 units depending on their yearly sales, I know some dealers did not get an allocation at all.

A waiting list was then created and initially there were around 80-90 people on it. BMW released another 25 cars so people at the top of this waiting list were contacted for deposit and then had their orders confirmed once they paid this deposit.

The dealership I have just spoken to think that BMW will not be making any more M60's after they have completed all current orders. So it in fact becomes a very limited special run.

Sorry about this but I hope it explains more - pretty bad if the dealer you have been in contact with has not explained!

I hope that helps
After getting the earlier responses I have spoken to my dealer, and it does seem I have a BMW order number with a status date of 2nd April, and it has the status of 'Order without available dealer quota'

I suppose I just need to keep my fingers crossed I will get an allocation eventually.

Hi
I know this is an old thread, but after nearly 7 months of waiting my order has a build slot, and I should get my M60 early next year.

Its looking a little more likely I may now actually get one now.

Hi

I don’t have my M60 yet, but it is getting closer. It’s currently in build and due to my dealer within the next 2 weeks.
So my car still has not arrived, but it is getting closer. It now has a new status code of 193 - Arrival at port or compound.
At least its now built.
My car will soon be a reality. It has arrived at the dealership.
Still no confirmed build date for me…
If you have a Feb build slot, you will should be able to get an update direct from BMW UK with the current status code.
My M60 is expected to arrive in early March (ordered mid-September). I was just wondering if any recent deliveries of M60s had any unexpected missing/deleted options?

In December when I finalised the order the interior camera was set to be deleted (we unticked the deletion for whatever good that will do), and I think it had the usual deletion of passenger lumbar support.
Hi
I am told everything I ordered is fitted to my car.
I pick it up on Thursday.

I’ve just checked the vin. Some of the sites decided my vehicle was a 2004 5 series.
The one that worked showed all the configuration and options so all looks good.
Presume SA060 60ah AGM Battery is the 12v battery.
I checked my VIN earlier too. It shows an M60 built and being shipped soon, but with the wrong colour, wrong wheels, wrong interior and wrong options. I'm hoping the wrong car has been put against my order and my car is on someone elses order (or the wrong info was in the VIN system), as otherwise I'll be back to square one with a fresh order...
Oh dear. Hopefully you just have the wrong VIN
The car is an awesome beast.
many comments from work today that it looks stunning

Still getting used to the car and can't resist being a bit heavy footed.
I would estimate that its about 250 miles on a charge at present.
On your new build, do you have the new “Battery Precondition for charging” button that’s been muted??
I have not seen a button for this. Any ideas where to look?
I see that the M60 price has gone up in the UK again - it was £116k at the end of last year, £119k as of the start of Jan, and is now showing as nearly £123k. Some of the options have had a ~10% price bump too.

I think the iX50 may have gone up as well as a fully spec'd one is now £123k.
Yes the price of the m60 has risen sharply. Luckily I was price protected on my purchase.
My dealer had a showroom M60, and it was basically the same spec as mine, and was £9K more.
Sorry I have no idea and I’m unfamiliar with iD8.
It was stated to be on March onwards vehicles so we may miss out if it’s hardware dependant - there’s a lot of rumour but not so much fact about the 2024 IX iDrive build hardware and software.
all the configurations I’ve seen are still showing ID8 for MY2024 - no 8.5 or 9?

this article is interesting but???

My reorder has been built (albeit with different wheels to the ones I wanted)! and is status 182 - handover to carrier. Should be here first week of April...
Not too long to wait now.
