Hi all. Posted this in the general iX thread, but figured I’d repost here as the problem seems UK specific. Anyone else here experienced it?

Received my iX50 in Feb 2022. Absolutely love it (quite the jump from my 2017 i3), but it’s had this problem since delivery :

The heads-up display will show the correct way to go around a roundabout when showing an advanced distance indication (eg :1/4 mile) but when it gets to the execution distance the roundabout graphic suddenly switches to European/US mode (indicates to drive right around the roundabout instead of left.. ie: the wrong side of the road).

Took it back to the dealership workshop, and they contacted BMW who said they’d never seen that issue. The mechanic took out another new iX50 they had in the show room to test and it had the exact same problem. This was raised with BMW Technical in May and still no word on a fix.

My car was recalled in April for the airbag software related fix, but besides that there’s been no other issues.

Anyone else experienced this?

Interesting! I'm meant to collect my 50 next month so will see. Out of interest, does this happen only when navigating using the native satnav? Have you tried using Google Maps on either Android Auto or Apple Carplay? Perhaps the HUD directions within that work correctly?

(I realise that doesn't excuse the failing, just curious on scope of the problem.)

Great idea! Just tried it with Apple Maps via CarPlay, and the HUD directions were correct. So the problem does appear to be with BMW’s native satnav talking to the HUD. The native satnav directions are always correct on the main displays, it’s just the HUD with this annoying bug.

I’ll let my dealer/workshop know and hopefully they’ll pass it on to BMW.

Kind of wish there was somewhere to report bugs directly to BMW/idrive team. I feel like we early adopters are kind of beta-testing this vehicle sometimes!
